I love to give gifts...brings me so much joy.

What gift are you giving this holiday season that is going to bring you great joy to see the look on your loved ones face?

This might also help those last minute shoppers with an idea or two.

Hi mommy ;)

Anyway i have a gift on the way to school which I wont get until I get back after break so my friend wont get it until after break but I got my best friend SCott the sheet music to Pirates of the Carribean because he loves the movie and he loves music.
I cant wait to see his face when I give it to him :)

Hiya,

This'll be a fun thread!

I'm looking forward to seeing my DBF's face (I'm really hoping he doesn't randomly decide to read the DIS before Xmas!!) when I give him his Husky KuleKube. It's a mini fridge thing, bigger than your typical 'mini fridge'. I guess it's more a personal bar. Anyways, he's been wanting one for months and months and I've pretty much convinced him I think "Its a bad idea cos' I would never see you" (he wants to keep it in his computer room in the new house) so he thinks I don't want him to ever have one, and I've got him it for Xmas!

Also, as it's so big I've had to hide it at my parents so he won't know about it until Christmas day afternoon.... so he'll open all his other presents in the morning and I'm not even going to mention it LOL!

I'm pretty excited about it :hyper:

Cya,

What a positive post! It makes me feel so good!

I like giving gifts that people don't expect. My sister doesn't think I'm getting her anything because we decided that. Well, I found a video of a show she really liked but hadn't seen in years. I bought it off eBay. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she gets it!

DD's quad, or DH's remote starter for his truck.

DD has asked for over 2 years...we've kept telling her when she's 8 etc..since she's only 7, she's going to be REALLY shocked!

DD had a remote starter in the last 3 trucks he's had. This truck is a diesel, and the remotes for these are 3X the price of the regular one, since it has glow plugs etc... DH keeps saying "I'd like one but god there expensive"....well, he's gettin one....

Now he won't have to go outside in the morning, he can reach out the door, unplug the extension cord, and hit the remote....

I am always excited when I have the opportunity to give a gift to someone! :)

This Christmas my "Nephew" really wanted this model car and we all acted like we didn't think it was a good idea for him to have one and that he wasn't old enough so I can't wait to see his face when he opens it up! :teeth:

My kids have no idea that they are getting a Gamecube. They are going to be so excited! :hyper:

My DH said that he would like a GB Advance SP, I thought he was joking. The boys already have them and DH plays with theirs. He wasn't joking and he wants his own...;) So, I went to Target and bought one for him. I know he is not expecting it because I told him that I wasn't buying electronics for anybody.  It's all I could think of saying to keep him guessing...::yes:: :teeth: :teeth:

I think I am most excited about watching my boy's faces when they open their gifts- we got DS6 a Mega Bloks Castle that is big as a fort (!!) that he has been talking about incessantly. We got DS2 a Disney Kid Clips radio and TONS of clips (like 15!!)- a friend of mine's son had it and Joshua LOVED it- played with it the whole time we visited with them and he NEVER plays with anything for that long of a time!

Yes, a neat thread!

Well we are giving my brother & SIL a brand new computer. The whole family has chipped in for it. Their computer died recently and they cannot afford one.

But....the funny part is we have told them that we are refurbishing an old computer for them. We have this horrible old computer tower and DH is going to put crummy-looking drives into with ALOT of nuts and bolts on the inside, he may even take a few whacks at it with a hammer for even more effect. So when they open it they will be *shocked* to say the least. It is all good clean fun. :teeth:

My DH thinks that he is getting a bottle of his favorite cologne from me. Well, he is getting that, plus a 20" flat screen TV with DVD and VCR. Everytime we go shopping he wants to look at them, saying that we need a new TV for the bedroom because the one we have is too small (13")and now that he is getting older (give me a break, he is 34!!!) he needs a larger screen to look at!! I keep telling him to ask Santa for one!

I am just excited to see their faces Christmas morning~ you know right after they do a run out , look at the tree really fast and yell "he came he came" and come and dive on me and DH in our bed and yell come on come on. DS is only 3 and DD is 8 so this is going to be a great Christmas.

My DS's are getting gift certificates to Medieval Times. They have been asking off and on since last summer to go there, so they will be very surprised.

Oh gosh! I think I'm excited about everything this year!!

My grown DD has been a collector of Mickey Mouse items since she was a toddler.. She's also very interested in anything to do with John F. Kennedy or Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis.. So.......I had a FIELD day on eBay!! I got all kinds of MM collector plates and figurines that we had somehow missed out on over the years; all kinds of neat books, mags, old newspapers about the Kennedy's, etc., - and most important, we were in Disney World on 9/11 and when the parks reopened she wanted that MM flag head pin SOOOOO bad, but they were immediately all sold out.. Well - I GOT one - on eBay!!

My son-in-law is a huge Jeff Gordon fan - and I got all kinds of super neat JG things for him on eBay - including a one dollar bill with Jeff Gordons face on it! All of the items I bought I have never seen available locally here..

Then - for my granddaughter - who is TOTALLY into the Disney Princesses now (as well as dresses and the color "pink") I found the most awesome CUSTOM MADE Disney Princesses dress for her - on ebay, of course! This woman down south makes them and they're gorgeous! The main color of the dress is PINK and it has all the faces of the Disney Princesses around the bottom.. And the really neat thing? You can wear it with a blouse or a turtleneck in the winter - and wear it as a sundress in the summer!! She's also very much into coloring now and goes through coloring books at the speed of light, so I found this cardboard cottage (actually large enough for her to play in!) for only $9.99 at Target - BUT - she has to color the whole thing first!! Walls, roof, curtains, shutters on the windows, front door, flowers growing up alongside the cottage walls, etc..

Last but not least, my DD, her DH, and I are giving my DH a brand new TV for Christmas 'cause his is slowly dying.. But..shhhhhhhhh..don't tell anyone...

I can't wait for Christmas!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I am always excited about giving gifts, but I am really excited about what I am giving my Mom's partner, nothing major, just a snowman ornament (I give her one every year) but she is "hosting" a family through the Y and she asked that instead of giving her something that we spend all the money we normally spend on her and get something for the family, well, we did that, and they are off to the family, but we also got her something (my sister and brother also got her something too) and as she isn't expecting anything above what we got the family for her, she will be really surprised to get something from us.

DD- I am excited for her to see her new Little Tykes Kitchen from Santa. I hope she loves it as much as I think she will! :)

DH-I got him both Special Edition LOTR DVD sets. He NOT expecting these at all and will love them!

Mom-She collects pigs for her kitchen. I found these cute pig bookends for her cookbooks.

Dad-Is getting peanuts that come in 2 baskets attached together. One is for the nuts one is for the empty shells. :)

These are the gifts I am excited to hear their reactions too! :)

Great thread! :)

I'm so excited for christmas. The boyfriend is getting an Olympus Stylus 400 digital camera, but he doesn't think the one he's getting is quite as nice! I also went a little crazy, because he is a huge honeymooners fan. I found the DVD set on Ebay for over $100, but didn't want to spent that much so I told him it was too expensive. The next day, I found it on amazon.com for $34.99!!! Sooo I got him that AND the two Honeymooners Board Games from the 80's, which I don't think he is expecting!

I started getting excited just today when I finally bought a frame for the ticket I bought my brother. It's a CUBS World Series game #3 ticket, face value $125.00, which I bought on Ebay for $10, AFTER the Cubs didn't MAKE the World Series....BUT, IF they had, my brother and I had already decided we WERE going to THAT game, #3, IF it happened, no matter the cost. I think $10 is pretty cheap! ROFLOL PLUS, I printed a picture of the Wrigley Field marquee that my brother took himself, to background the ticket...I'm soo excited about putting it all together! I hope he likes it!

I also think my DS is gonna be excited about a game or 2 that I happened to pick up at the last minute that he wanted that weren't on his original list. If they're here for C'mas that's great but, if not, his BD is 12/31 so, that's ok, too. ;)

DH is usually so hard to buy for. Most Christmas and birthday gifts are purchased by him and then handed to me and his parents to wrap and give to him. This year he did the same thing.

However, I bought him one gift that he doesn't know about. I'm kidnapping him next month and taking him to Las Vegas for 3 days. His parents will watch the kids for us while we're gone.

I bought him a new, leather duffel bag from Sharper Image and I'm putting a copy of the e-tickets, the hotel confirmation and a Las Vegas guidebook inside.

I can't wait to see his face. He's talked about taking a family trip to Vegas for a couple of years now but the kids' schedules just have not been flexible enough to go when it's affordable. And since LV is considered to be an "adult playground", I figured that it would make for a nice, mid-winter getaway for the two of us.

Eventually, the whole family will get there and we'll be able to take side trips to Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon, just like DH has talked about. But for now, I'm hoping that he'll be happy to get to see what the city of Las Vegas has to offer.
