Our family has 7 day park hopper tickets with days remaining. Can these be upgraded to AP's to take advantage of the DVC discount? Any idea how to figure the remaining value of days left?

Thanks

You can exchange one partially used hopper for each AP/PAP you purchase. Assuming you qualify, you can get the DVC discount even though you partially pay for the AP/PAP with your used hopper.

Be sure to ask for dollar credit when you do the exchange. Some of the CMs take requests literally and will tell you that you cannot upgrade. Upgrades must take place within 7 days of the first use of the hopper and the year of admission is then backdated to start from the day of first use. (That doesn't happen when you get a dollar credit. If it has been more than 7 days from first use, you can only get a dollar credit to apply to the purchase of a new pass).

The value of the partially used pass depends on who you bought it from. If you bought from Disney, it will be approximately equal to the number of unused days divided by the total number of days originally on the ticket. Only major park days count - you get no credit for any plus options. For example, if you have two days left on your 7 day ticket that originally cost $300, you would get a credit of 2/7 of $300 or $85.71.

If you bought your hopper from a discount broker, you only get credit for the price the broker paid Disney - no credit for the broker's mark up. It might be better to just keep your unused days for a later trip.

Here's a link that explains many of the ins and outs of upgrading WDW tickets:
