exchanging meals for snack credits?

I am thinking about doing childcare for one night which includes their dinner. If we do that we will have a couple extra meals from the dining plan on our card. I read on another thread someone said they exchanged meals for snack credits? Do you know how you do this or if its true???

Are the TS credits that you're looking to convert Child Credits or Adult Credits?

(I did read what you mentioned about childcare, but with Disney's "adult" status being 10, I figure it's entirely possible that you would need childcare for Disney's definition of adult.)

The resort counterservice is known to exchange a meal credit for 3 snacks. Not a conversion of the credit, but simply allowing 3 snacks to count as a meal.

Even that depends on the resort. May 2010, I was sharing a room with a fellow DISer at CSR. Because she had to leave a day before I did and because we had made trips over to Universal two days, she had extra CS credits. On her last day, we tried to convert them to snack credits at Starring Rolls bakery and was told they couldn't. It had to be done at the resort guest services. We ran over to CSR and asked at guest services, but was told they couldn't do it either and to just check at Cafe Rix to see what they could do. At Cafe Rix, the CM talked with a manager and finally let her exchange on a 1 to 1 basis. All she got for her three CS credits were three Snicker bars. Before I left the next day, I made sure I ran down to Earl of Sandwich and used my extra CS credits for sandwiches, cupcakes, and bottled water. Since I was flying, I then gave the unopened bottles of water away on the bus ride back to the resort.
