Exchanging hotel points

Does anyone know of any sites or places where I could exchange Holiday Inn Priority Club points for Marriott Rewards points? I'd like to have all of my points in the same "club" and had to make several stays at Holiday Inn's while on business travel last year. I've already transferred all of my DH's points to my Marriott account and now want to get rid of the Holiday Inn points.

Can this be done between different hotel chains?
I have a bunch of points from several different chains, and would love to combine them!

But I really don't think that different hotels will allow that.
We have Holiday Inn and Choice Hotels (quality inn, comfort inn, etc) and have lots of points for each. But not quite enough to get a long weekend (maybe 4 nights) out of either.
But if combined....yes.
Soooo.....we have decided to convert both to frequent flyer points. And stay at a hotel of our choice!
Some of these hotels make it very difficult to be able to plan anything......
For example....Choice...you have to wait til 30 days before the arrival date in order to call for availability and make a reservation.
You can reserve using a credit card, just like anyone else. But they do not guarantee the room will be available for the rewards when the time comes. We tried once and could not get it. Ended up cancelling the long weekend because the cost was just too high.
We have used HI points. They seem to be easier to deal with, and it worked out well for us. But with them...if you get anywhere near a popular travel area.....the points needed to stay quadruple!
We have also converted hotel points into car rental!!
Go to the Holiday Inn web site, or call the 800 and just ask!!

Were your DH points also for Marriot??

Yes DH points were also Marriott.

There is a website on the Holiday Inn site that you can link to thru the Rewards section that allows 'trading" points among programs. Unfortunately they don't have Marriott as a member yet (and you don't always get a point for point trade....I haven't used them yet because there really isn't anything there I want to trade my HI points for).

We too have found HI to be the easiest (over Marriott). With Marriott you HAVE to have the certificate (which they mail you). With HI you just call and make the ressie--I've made ressies as close as 30 MINUTES to the time I wanted to stop at a hotel.

What exactly are the rules for transferring among non family members? I'm going to call HI and Marriott and find out. Maybe we can ask Pete or the mods if we could start a trade board here?????????? (Kinda like the collectibles trade and want board??)

My sister may be needing points for a stay in Atlanta with my nephew and I plan on calling tomorrow!

Here is Marriott's reply:

Marriott Rewards members may transfer points from one account to another at the time of reward redemption. Immediately prior to redemption, a member may authorize the transfer of the ecessary number of Marriott Rewards points into another member's Marriott Rewards account, in order to qualify for a specific award. You can only transfer points in increments of
1,000's.

An "Authorization to Transfer Points" form must be completed and submitted to Marriott Rewards in order to transfer the required number of points and order the appropriate reward.

Once the authorization for transfer is received and processed, the
transferee relinquishes all rights to the transferred points.

I believe transferring points between accounts for Marriott Rewards is only from one spouse to another.

TRANSFERRING POINTS
This member benefit is only available at time of reward redemption (only one reward request per redemption, please).

Immediately prior to redemption, a member may authorize the transfer of the necessary number of Marriott Rewards points into the spouse's Marriott Rewards account, in order to qualify for a specific reward.

Only the necessary number of Marriott Rewards points needed to redeem the specified reward, rounded to the nearest 1,000 points, may be transferred — no more, no less.

An Authorization to Transfer Points form must be completed and submitted to Marriott Guest Services in order to transfer the required number of points. Forms are available by calling Marriott Guest Services. A request for reward redemption from the transferee's spouse must be submitted to the Guest Services Center with the Authorization to Transfer Points form.

Once the authorization for transfer is received and processed, the transferee relinquishes all rights to the transferred points, and they become the spouse's points.

For all "stay" related promotions a "hotel stay" or "stay" means all consecutive nights spent with Marriott by a Marriott Rewards member

We have Marriott points, Holiday Inn points, and Starwood points. My DH's corporate AMEX is enrolled in the Membership Rewards program, so he can move those points into several hotel programs, as well as airlines. If I were you, I'd use the points as is, and not get involved in trading points online.

One more idea...you can transfer your Holiday Inn points to an airline (as already mentioned) and have all future stays earn miles as well.
