I wish I could find a hot tea that I cared for. Maybe I just don't brew it right or add the right amount of sweetener. And I don't care for flavored teas. They fall in the category of Koolaid, Powerade, etc. Don't care for fruit flavored drinks at all.

Comfort foods? Hamburgers. Most any kind of food could be a comfort food to me but not sweets. They just make me feel bad.

Got my bloodwork tests back and my chloresterol is down from where it was last October. Yay! No Zocor for me!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Good job Susan.

I am not a tea drinker as well. The closest I would come to it would be a Jamba Juice macha smoothie or certain green tea ice creams, and sweets.

As for a comfort food, I like sushi, and Thai food.

Good news!

I had a Russian great grandmother who always had tea in her house--I still like it the way she'd make it for me...strong with milk and sugar. They didn't care about giving kids caffeine back then! :rotfl:

I think I turn more to salty things than to sweet when I'm stress eating.

I had a Russian great grandmother who made me tea the same way!! And she always served it in her best china with saucer.

You had a Baba, too? :flower3: Did yours make bread? I wish I had her recipe. It was always warm and dense, slathered with butter. yum....THAT would be my comfort food. I should also mention she made everyone....and I mean everyone...do a shot of whiskey when they came into her house. You didn't get arrested back then for serving minors! :rotfl:

ok, now I have to go search for a bread recipe... :surfweb: .. and some bourbon...

I miss my Baba!

Was your bread a little bit on the sweet side? If so, I have the recipe.

yes! I have those recipes. SHe used to make lekvar (prune) ones too. Ok, so while we're reminiscing :goodvibes ....how about perogies, halupki, and halushki?

I have a recipe for noodles that taste just like perogi. We called it halushki & cabbage. We called halupki pigs-in-the-blanket. :rotfl2:

I'm in Scotland and we had Mother's Day back in March. I had a lovely day and my girls baked cookies and cakes, made buches of flowers from tissue paper, drew lots of pictures and managed to wait until a respectable hour to come in and bounce on my bed! :rotfl: :cloud9:

Hope all you mums have a lovely day. :thumbsup2

Thank you, Sarah!

My plans for tomorrow are to rest and relax. I'm hoping to be taken out to breakfast, my favorite meal of the day! I am spending all day today decorating for the band banquet, chaperoning it and then tearing it down. I will definately need some pampering tomorrow!

What are your Mother's Day plans for tomorrow?

Well, nothing spectacular, but the kids all have cards and gifts they've made at school that they want to give me. We'll probably go out to lunch or maybe just get take out. Anything so I don't have to be in the kitchen. LOL

And I went shopping today and picked out 2 new shirts as one of my presents.

I told my DH I didn't want to spend a lot because we are taking a weeks vacation in less then a month and I'd rather save the money for that.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!!! Today's QOTD is-
If you were to have something delivered to you-flowers, chocolates, fruits....what would you want to recieve?

I don't know. I don't like flowers, too expensive for something that will just die. LOL I don't need any chocolate. Fruits? Eh. I don't know.
