Steve Irwin for me, too! I really took that hard.

DS11 was only a few years old when we discovered him on tv, and used to tell kids on the playground his name was Steve! :goodvibes We were at AK that year, and he was telling a CM how he loved snakes, and she brought one out for him. He asked if it was a "fee-mial".....female, with the accent! It was too funny. He learned a lot of terms with that accent. I always thought we'd get to plan a trip to Australia Zoo in the next few years so he could meet his hero.

 My internet server has been giving me alot of problems lately, so I wasn't able to post the QOTD, so here it is-

What different scents do you like and dislike?

Hope you can get your Internet worked out.
--------------------------------------------------------------

I used to work in a candle factory, had to quit because of the smells.

Favorite is vanilla, most horrid is peppermint. Everytime I was in the room where they were doing peppermint, I went outside and threw up.

I do not burn candles or incense, wear perfume, and must be careful of lotions because of my asthma and allergies.

I don't like strong scents, and don't wear perfumes either.

I like homemade baked item scents, lemony, and fruity scents. My fav. being birthday cake.

I don't like musky scents, and floral scents.

Here's another that doesn't care for strong scents or wear perfume. I used to wear perfume when I was younger though.

About the only scent that I've found that I can tolerate burning in my home is YC's McIntosh Apple and McIntosh Apple & Peach. My least favorite scent is vanilla but I love the smell of Buttercream, just not in my home. I'm not a floral person either. A faint touch of cinnamon is okay in small doses.

When it comes to Yankee Candles, I like most of the fruit and food scents. My favorite right now is Island Spa. It has a slight hint of lemon to it. I really cannot tolerate floral scents. They give me a huge headache.

Has anyone seen any of the new fall YC scents yet? I was at our local store about 2 weeks ago and they had just put them out. They had about 10 different new scents. I liked the Frosted Pumpkin and Cider Doughnut. They also had Mango Peach Salsa, Fall Festival and several others along with Autumn Wreath and Autumn Leaves. I can't wait for the Fall YC exchange.

I'm not one for scents either. I did find a perfume that doesn't kill me! It's called "A Pirates Life for Me!". I found it at Hot Topic.

My favorite smell would have to be DH's aftershave:cloud9: Mmmmm:love:

Today is the day of our friend's wedding, so the QOTD is-

Have you ever been a party of a wedding party?

and since we will be staying at the hotel tonight, here is tomorrow's QOTD-

If you were to recieve a gift below $50.00 in the mail, what one thing would you want?

Have you ever been a party of a wedding party?
Yes - 2 times. Flower girl in my sister's wedding about 25 years ago! And about 2 months ago in my sister-in-law's wedding as a bridesmaid.

Hmmm..tough question...a new pair of shearling slippers..mine are done!!

I was a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding.

A gift under $50.00-
A nice non stick frying pan.

I felt like Rent-a-Bridesmaid right after college. There were a group of us girls that were really good friends, and we were each in each other's weddings. Add aunt and sister. I think I had dyeable shoes in every color! Never able to rewear anything.

$50...there's a grill pan for their outdoor grill that I just got the inlaws for Mothers/Fathers day --- I think I need one for us, too. :goodvibes

Just my sisters and that was enough for me.

A Tink outfit, think shirt, sweatpants & matching hat.

As for scent. I love baked goods, rain scent in the air, popcorn and bacon (the mall had some cooking somewhere today and it smelled so good!!)
I don't like florals or anything strong. I wear light scents.

I was in my cousins wedding many years ago, was a bride (that's is part of the wedding party ;) ) and mother of the groom 2 years ago.

I would like DVDs for my $50...I am always ordering them from Amazon. We are still upgrading from VHS to DVD.

The only wedding I was in, was my own.

A gift under $50 - A gift card to Amazon.

Yes, I was a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding when I was 18. There were 6 bridesmaids, a maid of honor, a matron of honor, flower children, and ring bearers. It was a lavish event. We were all introduced by the DJ at the reception and had to make a running entrance under swags of roses being held aloft. The room was darkened and a spotlight was on only us as we ran through hand in hand with our wedding partner. I felt like a celebrity! (my own wedding was quite different -- the following year I eloped with my boyfriend from HS.)

For a $50 gift I'd choose an Amazon gift card -- I would buy one of the Dark Shadows collections with it!

I am behind already!

So .. Fave Scents.. (candles) Apple and Apple Cinnamon type scents are my faves! I also love other baking scents and fresh smelling scents like Orange.

Have you ever been a party of a wedding party?

No, I have been the photographer though. ;)

Hmm, a gift certificate?? A gift basket, etc... I can't think of any one certain thing.

Merry Christmas in July DISers :santa:.
Here is todays QOTD-
Look into your refrigerator.....if you were to cook a meal for a party of 4 people, what would you be able to serve?

Does anyone know what happened to some of our regular past DIS exchangers like Carrie and her daughter Amy......?

Today is our big annual 4th of July cookout.

I can serve, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, deviled eggs, potato salad, pickles, olives. The rest of the food is being brought by other people. Also a sundae bar for dessert and I have all the fixings here.

I could do burgers and hot dogs too. Or I could whip something up with the leftover BBQ chicken from last night. Maybe do something with rice, I always have a ton of that. I could do a pasta dish too.
