Today's question of the day is-

Are you ready for the holidays?

Yes I am ready for the holidays.

Tree and decorations up, since just after Halloween.

Doing my cookies on the 16th (have to wait to make them or John would have them gone before Christmas).

Having my mom and sister up for dinner, we make lasagna for Christmas dinner.

Thursday answer first: We buy a fresh wreath each year from a young cub scout and just keep it simple. We tie on trios of fresh pinecones, sometimes spray paint them silver or gold. But I would definitely like to add small white lights to it if I could (those darn battery operated sets do not last even one evening in my experiences thus far!).

Friday's answer: No , I am so not ready this year. We managed to get our tree up yesterday while watching the Heroes marathon on Sci-Fi channel, and we were supposed to get the lights on said tree tonight, but DH bailed on me and went to play Pirates with the guys instead! Work has been crazy so I have not been able to go shopping, and I still have 6 family members to find presents for but they are all the hard to shop for types, lol! Send help, please!

Yes today is my birthday but I don't have any special plans.
I am actually busy doing this and that today and this is my only time to sit down and relax while I am on the computer.

I finally got out of the house It was very busy out. Some people are still without power. The grocery stores are very crowded with people restocking their fridges and cupboards.

I have a wreath,.....well 2. One is just green with little ornaments on it. And believe it or not, I can't remember what the other looks like. I will find out tomorrow when I decorate.
I am done shopping. No deocorations up yet. We never put the tree or those up until at least Dec. 1....gotta enjoy my fall decorations for awhile

The situation at your stores sounds like how some of the stores were here in Hawaii during the earthquake. People were lining up outside trying to buy what they needed.
Hope everyone gets their power back soon and that there are no other situations that happen anywhere.

This weekend? I'm filling out a questionaire that my doctor gave me as I signed up for a "Weight Loss" study group. *joy* I'm really not doing anything else until Monday when I go to Orlando and stay at Universal, for a taping of a show on Tuesday. I can hardly wait!

So, what do you have planned for this weekend?

We have a busy weekend!!!
Samantha is going to a slumber party tonight. Trey and I will make cookies while she is gone.
Tomorrow we have the Downtown parade, first year the kids aren;t in it!!!! We can actually watch it!! They were asked, but they both decided to sit out.
Then they go to Grandma's for the day and evening.
We have a special reception tomorrow night.
And we leave on Wednesday night for Disney, so I need to pack!!!
Then Cowboy game on Sunday!!!!!!

The rain and wind are with a tornado warning just 14 miles north of us.

Heidi - I think your tornado warning moved a bit east this evening. The city was all under tornado watch. I cannot even imagine what could happen if one really did come.

On top of it all, I think the area airports are all running at least 3 hours behind schedule from all the snow in the mid-West - or at least that is what the news is saying.
