Well good morning everyone

I have been out of the loop for awile but trying to keep up. Last week our weather was horrible, very, very cold. This week it is in the 40's and we have had rain and it got rid of most of the snow.

I have been planning a secret trip to WDW for just Stacey and I. We are going Jan 2-5. It will be 4 full days since we are arriving early and leaving late. She really wants to see the Osborne lights. She doesn't know yet :ssst: That's why I didn't put a ticker up, she looks over my shoulder sometimes.

I hope Washington state's weather is calm for a change.
Here it's nice, but we were bummed last evening. DH braved rush hour traffic to get to the Cincinnati zoo to see the Festival of Lights, and when we got there, there was a small posted notice that the lights were cancelled Monday to Wednesday, but join us all on Thursday! Shucks, another hour plus traffic to get home.
We're packing :cheer2: tonight after we drop off our dogs at the kennel.
My ears still feel stuffed. Dr. says give it another week...it's been 3 weeks, hearing comes and goes, but not pain any more.
Bobbi :)

Last nights storm missed us. Tonight is supposed to be the big one.

:yay: Have fun, Bobbi. :hyper:
Sorry about the missed zoo lights. What a PITA.

....

Oh my, is the weather always so newsworthy? I think not. I hope this one misses you as well.

One special thing about this trip, is we will see a friend, who just turned 60, just a few months before I will. We've been friends for just about 55 years, we met in kindergarten. Her DD will be singing in the choir on Monday in the Candlelight Processional.

Bobbi :sunny:

Aww...what a special thing.
My best friend is the one going with me to WDW in Jan. for our birthdays. She will turn 61 there....and it is her first trip. I can't wait to take her. But, we have only been friends for about 26 years :rotfl:
Are you packed yet?

What a great way to celebrate your birthdays! I just ordered a "Celebrating Friendship" cake for our meal at LeCellier together, we two couples. What I really really want to do, but it's going to wait for just a few more years, is go with a few female friends and take a houseboat in the Everglades. This was my "dream" way of spending my 60th but it just didn't work out. I will put it on hold...I know my DSis would come, but I'm not ready yet. Have you ever done anything like that?

No, I don't pack until the dogs are in the kennel. It makes me sad to watch Buster, he looks at the bags, looks at me, and back and forth he goes...I found it's best to pack away from his soulful gaze.

Bobbi :)

Have a fun time Bobbi.

Carrie, that sounds like alot of fun. How far away are you from WDW?

Nancy, hope this storm that they are predicting for tonight just passes by. I was watching a show last night and they showed a small town in another country where they had major snow and then an avalanche occured. How scary to have to think of things that can happen when you live in a place that has snow. Keep safe.

Never done a rental and not in the Everglades
I hope this girlfriends' trip becomes something we do more often. Took 5 years for planning for this one. We had to get our kids out of school ....and then she had to save.
We are going for 2 weeks.
She the CUTE Minnies I added to my signature. That was what I got for Christmas from her.
We are so ready to go!
I am sure you will have a GREAT time!!

I can understand about the dogs. ::yes:: My kitties hate when the suitcases come out. They are always so relieved when it is just DH going on a business trip :rotfl:

Ahhh! Red Hat Minnies! Very cute....And Meriweather, that's DH's opinion of my desire for the houseboat trip! We've been on just hour scenic boatrides out of Flamingo, and another place in the National Park, and rather than scary, it's quite peaceful. On one boat ride, a pair of dophins followed in the wake of the boat, jumping and watching us, it made an impression on me.

Do both children take afternoon naps, mommietotwo?

Bobbi :goodvibes

Well, I hope you get that Everglade trip ::yes::
I watch too many horror movies :rotfl:
Gotta take kitty #2 to the vet for a procedure. Good thoughts that nothing serious is going on :(

Brandon takes naps throughout the day and night and as for Shayla, she rarely takes a nap. If we are going out to somewhere during the evening, I try to have her take a nap so that she feels refreshed, but it is hard for her to do.
I came down with a cold so I am not feeling well, so I am hoping that both kids will take a nap at the same time today so that I can get some rest.

Patsy, I hope you can get some rest, and that the cold is short lived!

Dogs are in the kennel, and I'm starting to pack. DH has 1 suitcase packed and is finished, and so far I have enough for 2 :rotfl: spread out on the bed. It's not pretty!

How is kitty #2 doing? A procedure sounds mysterious!

Bobbi

Kitty is still at the vet. I hope I get a call to come get her soon. I worry about them.
She is getting sinus x-rays and scope  She has been having persistent sinus infections the last couple of months.
I hope to go get her soon......reports of the wind storm are starting down south. I want to be settled in before it hits here....if it does.

Have a wonderful trip, Bobbi.

Hope you feel better soon, Patsy.

Poor kitty, poor Meriweather, worried about the weather again.

Once we found out that WDW had nice Christmas things, we have made it back every year ('02). In '03, we came back to our room to find a message that DGS was born when we were at MVMCP! So we'll be calling Jack this year to wish him Happy Birthday, and we'll be visiting them when we get back from Florida.

kimbac3 was talking about fog and deer. Good that she made it home. I hit a deer one rainy afternoon 2 years ago, and ever since then I'm so reluctant to drive at night/late afternoon. Is that a problem for others?

Bobbi

Deer here also :(
Wind is picking up. One stop light was out in town when I went to pick kitty up...didn't see anything else out....yet. Night is young.

We were at WDW in Dec. '02 ;) Not in Dec any other time. Of course that was our last trip before going back Feb '06.

Patsy I live over 1000 miles away from WDW. It takes 2 1/2 hours to fly and about 20 hours to drive. I hope you had a chance to rest today.

Nancy I hope your weather isn't to bad tonight.

Thank you ladies.
I wasn't able to get any rest yet, but I had recieved a great kitchen exchange and also boxes of Christmas presents so that was fun opening them with Shayla.
Carrie, do you ever drive to get to WDW or do you fly?

Looks like we may miss most of the bad weather.
Lights have been flickering all evening, but they haven't gone off yet.

Carrie, another trip? ;) Lucky you.
Hope you get some rest Patsy.

If someone were to bake you something homemade, what would you request for?
This will probably sound sad, but chocolate chip cookies with no nuts in them.
