Only a girlfriend outing on the 11th.
DD comes home on the 17th.
Haven't heard anything about a company party yet, so who knows on that.

We went to see Beowolf on IMAX 3-D....fun!!

My company holiday party is mid month. :wizard:
That is all, and that is fine. :rotfl2:
I have friends throughout the month coming to WDW for visits. :woohoo:

Saw Enchanted last night. Well worth seeing! popcorn::

Tomorrow we are going to Sea World! First timers for there and looking forward to it. We have been meaning to go for a long time. :santa:

We always tried to get together with some of our favorite individuals over the holidays.

Right now we have a dinner planned with one of our couple friends than we plan on visiting one of the Christmas shops to see the trees decorated.

A family outting is planned on Dec 22nd which includes dinner and seeing the Christmas light display.

Christmas Eve is a evening with my Husband's family and Christmas Day we spend with my family.

New Year's Eve we always have our neighbors from our old neighborhood visit for the evening and night. (Won't let them drive on NYE).

So far that's what our calendar looks like.

Everyone's menus look yummy! I'm ready for another go round already. I just love Thanksgiving!

I woke up at 3:35 am yesterday morning and gave getting up for Kohl's 4 am opening but then went back to sleep. I do want to do the early Black Friday shopping one day just to experience it. I did take Carol and her friend, Demi, shopping yesterday afternoon to a local outdoor mall. The weather was perfect, chilly with lots of sunshine, just right to stroll from store to store with a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. The crowds were good too. I guess most everyone hit the stores early.

We do have a few things scheduled for the holidays. On Dec. 1st, Carol is marching in the nationally televised Adolphus Neiman Marcus Children's Christmas parade. Look for the Heath High School Band if it shows in your area. She'll be with the drill team directly behind them. I doubt they'll show the drill team but you never know.

On Dec. 8th, the drill team is having a Spaghetti Dinner/Silent Auction. On Dec. 15th, the drill team is having a Mother/Daughter tea and ornament exchange. On the 22nd is the Lambe family Christmas. That's all that is planned at the moment but it looks like each weekend has something going on.

The mother daughter tea and ornament exchange sounds like fun, although I don't drink tea, or coffee.
Maybe I can have my daughter go shopping with my husband for an ornament, and I can get her one, and we can exchange it as a annual tradition :) :santa:.

I like some spicy food, but not really hot spicy. DH likes the really spciy food at an Indian restaurant, but I prefer the milder stuff. I do use chillies when I'm cooking though which I eat.

I like medium spicy...but then everyone's idea of what is spicy is different ;)
I like a little heat, but to me too much and the flavor disappears.

I only like a little heat. If you eat and you are thinking, boy this is hot, it is too hot for me. I prefer pleasure rather than pain myself.

I like just a little spicy. DH likes it hot enough to make him sweat. I'm a wimp.

Yeah, I'm not real sure what to expect. I just know that we have to dress up. And I think that the ornament exchange is between the girls. I think that taking Shayla out to lunch for a girl's day out would be a good start for a tradition. Maybe to a local tea room or something.

Do you like spicy foods? How spicy are you able to eat?
I used to could eat real spicy foods, the spicier the better. Nowadays, I tend to stay away from them. I get heart burn real easy especially in the evenings. I'm hoping that losing weight will help.

I love spicy foods. When my DH makes things at home, it is really spicy but good. If we go to Thai restaurants, I make my food spicy. If it is not spicy enough, then I use the dry chili, or pitnanba-the spicy Thai sauce.

Do you have any winter or Christmas traditions?
Would putting up the tree the weekend after Thanksgiving and taking it down the day after Christmas be one?:rotfl:

We have a pair of sock Christmas mice that my MIL made us years ago that always go up inside our tree next to the trunk area. She died on October 14th, it was bittersweet putting them in this year.

That's all I can think of that we really do year after year after year. My trees have gotten smaller as time goes by. I purchased a four foot artificial pre-lit this year. It didn't take long to put up and it certainly won't take long to take down. :woohoo:

Is it easier with girls?? :goodvibes

I try getting DSs involved in Xmas preparations, but they're really not into it. They'd rather eat the cookies than bake them. Altho, they do like to put up the tree--probably because it's like a big puzzle with all the branches. (fake) I used to be really picky about my tree, but for the last 5 years or so I've let them do it. It ends up lopsided with all the ornaments toward the front middle, but they have a good time. :santa:

We actually have quite a few traditions, now that I think about it.

:santa: We visit relatives every Christmas Eve.
:santa: We all bake dozens and dozens of Christmas cookies the weekend before Christmas.
:santa: We go to the same Christmas tree farm every year and we all help decorate the tree
:santa: We make Gingerbread houses
:santa: We let the kids dress in their PJs and we pile them in the truck with hot chocolate and cookies and we go look at neighborhood Christmas lights.
:santa: I always read Twas the Night Before Christmas and the Christmas story from the Bible on Christmas Eve.
:santa: Also we have several "must watch" holiday movies

I love Christmas!:cloud9:

Is it easier with girls??
Not really. I have one of each (boy and girl) and they both felt the same once they got older about decorating the tree. James got to where he only wanted to put up "his" ornaments and then once he started driving, he was out the door and down the street before I said "Let's decorate....". Carol has resigned herself to helping and for the last couple of years has asked friends over to help decorate the tree. They have a good time at it. Of course, the deal is that I have to take it all down by myself. That's why I purchased a new, smaller artificial tree this year. It doesn't hold near the amount of ornaments that I have and it's pre-lit. Take down will be a snap! ;)
