Happy, happy birthday!!!!

No, my parents did not do anything special at school for me for my birthday and when my kids were in elementary school, we were not allowed to bring something for them.

We brought in treats...usually cupcakes. My kids did through 5th grade, but not so much in middle school and definitely not high school!

Since I have a summer birthday, I never got to bring in treats. I do remember celebrating other birthdays in elementary school, and parents would bring in some sort of treat.

I don't remember bringing anything in when I was in school. But for my kids, we have done cupcakes, go-gurts, and ice cream sundaes.

We like leftover chili and ham & beans. They taste even better when they've sat a while. Otherwise, I don't think we really eat any leftovers.

Pizza and mashed potatoes lol. I like to make potato cakes for breakfast the next morning.

How do you make potato cakes from leftover mashed potatos? I make my mashed potatos from scratch, not a mix, and have not been successful with potato cakes yet.

I'm getting where I don't eat left overs as much as I used to. But if I picked one, it would be pizza.

None at the moment. I imagine I'll have to get something one day when James and Carol get married. I've already told them I'm not wearing a dress.

No antiques i don't care for them, however whatever i have that Starla wants when she gets older she can have.

We have a couple things but they are not worth anything monetarily.

Joe's father's pocketwatch, a sugar and creamer set from my dad's paternal side of the family and a plate and ring from his maternal side. My mom has a cake plate that belonged to her grandmother that she still has that I will get one day. I also have an incomplete set of my dad's mother's china.

Stuff like that.

How do you make potato cakes from leftover mashed potatos? I make my mashed potatos from scratch, not a mix, and have not been successful with potato cakes yet.

I'm getting where I don't eat left overs as much as I used to. But if I picked one, it would be pizza.

I do not and will not eat mashed potatos from a box mix. My mom almost always makes mashed potatos out of scratch.
This is how I make a potato cake.
I put some margarine in a small frying pan then throw in the mashed potatos after the margarine has melted. I usually just get a big scoop of the potatos. I smash the potatos down a little so it looks kinda like a pancake and just let it cook until its a little brown on one side and then I flip it.(that can be a challenge sometimes lol) Add some salt and yum!

My mom just told me....a potato cake to most other people is totally different than what I just described lol. so yeah.. Hope that answers your question

I have only 2 fancy dresses. One I bought from DEBS for my 20th birthday. I rented a limo for the day and invited 14 friends. Its long and silver. The other is a maroon red. Also long with no sleeves. A friend gave it to me because she no longer fit in it. I don't what I'll use it for....but I have it lol

No to the first question but I did receive a diamond ring from my grandmother on my dad's side. Her grandfather made it and gave it to her and she gave it to me for my 16th birthday.
