Some friends/family members ask, but mostly for the kids. On my wish list are a new digital camera, card making items-cardstock, cardstock stack...., ...

If someone where to give you a present unexpectidly, do you have a back up gift to give that is ready right now? If so, what is it?

I used to, but not anymore.
I don't think we will get any since we just moved here........I always have things in the closet though.
Candles, bath sets, crystal bowls I could fill with candy

No i do not, but we have never had anyone give a gift unexpectedly.

Do people who plan on buying you a Christmas present ask you what you want? If so, do you tell them? And, what is it that is on your wish list?

My DH and mom usually ask. I never really know what to ask for, but I always enjoy books, music, and stationery.

Hmm....we usually have a bottle of wine that we could give away.

Here is another QOTD/different twist.

Find a dress or outfit that you would wear/matches your personality that you would pick out for a fancy Christmas party.

I have been such a slacker with the DIS!
Do you like to try new recipes? What have you been wanting to cook or bake, but just never got to it?

I love to try new recipes. I have a few TV chefs that I will try anything from, and I like allrecipes.com because you can see reviews and tell if others think it's good.

At our house we eat rice as our side dish with our main meals, and other side dishes. What do you eat/serve at your house? Salad, rice, bread, potato.....?
Depends on the main dish. But sides are usually mashed potatoes, rice or pasta. French fries! Fresh veggies or salad.

Are you excited for Christmas? Are you counting down the days till Christmas? Do you have a Christmas tree? How many presents is underneath it? :santa:
Yes! I started out strong with shopping, but now I'm going out to find one or 2 last things. Nothing underneath yet! :goodvibes The older kids have only asked for a few things--very nice.

I know I prefer to have someone tell me what they'd like, so if someone asks I try to tell them. I always tell my niece because she'll get something anyway and I want to make sure it's not expensive.

Funny you should ask! I just had one of DS10's teammates' mom tell me she had presents for me and DS. I have some things from a pottery store that went out of business, so I think I'll fill it with cookies.

I always make up some extra gifts, as we never know who's going to drop by with an unexpected gift. This years gifts are: either a coffee mug, or a travel mug, 2 microwave popcorn, some mint patties, tea, a bar of chocolate from the school, and a NASCAR stocking, and anything else I can think of. As for clothing for fancy parties, DH and I usually attend at least one of these every year. I usually wear slacks, a fancy tank, and something glittery on top of it. This summer I scored a really nice dark brown glittery light cover that I love for a good deal. Have been wearing that plus slacks and a brown shell with it.

I don't have any "just in case" gifts.

If I were going to a fancy party, I'd wear something on the order of what belledozer said she would wear.

Patsy....where's your dress??

We have a Minnie Mouse angel tree topper.
DS took our second topper because we don't have 2 trees at this house. It is a Taz angel wearing a biker jacket.

We have an angel at the top of our tree. It looks more like a little girl in an old fashioned nightgown holding a light for a candle.

ours is a big silver glittery star, the more sparkly and obnoxious, the better!
