I dont enjoy cooking so I don't really like new recipes. I'm a picky eater and lazy too, so we always eat the same old things or just eat whatever we want haha. Sometimes I'll feel adventurous and make something new but I don't really care for it

I like to bake though!

Do you like to try new recipes? What have you been wanting to cook or bake, but just never got to it?

When baking, I do enjoy trying new recipes, but also have some trusty "old reliables" to fall back on if the new recipe flops. I've always wanted to try making springerle cookies, but have just never found the time.

I don't enjoy cooking but do try new recipes 2 - 3 times a month.

I've always thought of making Snickerdoodles or a peach cobbler but never have. Maybe one day.......

At our house we eat rice as our side dish with our main meals, and other side dishes. What do you eat/serve at your house? Salad, rice, bread, potato.....?

Potato and a veggie, though I prefer rice. If a cheeseburger then the side is fries and if a hot dog the side is mac and cheese.

A salad, rice, potatos, other vegetables are the side dishes. We usually have two side dishes. Rice is sometimes part of the main dish. Now with that recipe I sent you Patsy, I would just have a salad because that dish has three different vegetables in it.

we rarely have side dishes, if we do its usually some type of noodle or canned vegetable

Are you excited for Christmas? Are you counting down the days till Christmas? Do you have a Christmas tree? How many presents is underneath it? :santa:

Yep...love Christmas.
We have 4 advent calendars, so we are counting the days.
Tree is up and very pretty. We had to get a new one this year.
There are a lot of presents under it. 5 people worth, so about 30-40

Christmas is my favorite holiday.

Yes counting down the days.

Tree has been up since Thanksgiving night.

Not many gifts underneath, there are only 5 people and we do I gift each. Plus John and I don't exchange gifts, our Disney trips each year is our gift.

No big dinner this year, just going to be John and I.

No gifts under the tree, thanks to Catie the wonder hound and mooch extrodinaire. She is the biggest mooch we've had and the smallest greyhound, and will go after anything that has food in it. I had to fix the door on my office, as she figured out that if she nudged it hard enough that it would open, and could get access to all the gifts in there. So my office is over run with gifts until Christmas Eve, when we will block both dogs out of the livingroom so that we can put the gifts under the tree, and fill the kids stockings. I love Christmas, but will be glad when the surgery I'm having done on Tues is over and done with, so I can really enjoy Christmas, knowing I'm not going to have anymore health problems. And I can plot and scheme against the kids for our surprise trip to DL, lving late Jan for 15 days. The kids have no clue, and the teachers are not going to ruin the surprise. I'm a good story teller and have made up a plausible story as to why we are taking them out of school for 2 weeks. The kids believe me,(FOOLS!) and DH backs up anything I say. Plotting and scheming against the kids, just one of the services I offer my family.:dance3:

I'm ready for Christmas but not excited. I miss the days when our children were small. Maybe once the grandchildren come along I'll get the excitement back. Am looking forward to Christmas morning and having both of our kids here for the first time in a couple of years.

We have a tree, it's been up since the Saturday after Thanksgiving. There are a number of presents underneath.

I began filling the stockings as soon as they were up and I had stuff to put into them. Still getting stuff for them. Since both kids are not home anymore, I thought the stockings were safe. Carol was a very bad girl last week. She went through some of her stocking. She said that it was tradition. :confused3 Apparently she gets up very, very early on Christmas morning and goes through her stocking, then putting it all back. I wrapped a few things so she at least doesn't know what those are. I think that I will be wrapping everything in her stocking from now on.

I am looking forward to Christmas now. I broke up from work on Friday for 2 1/2 weeks. Today I have spent the day sorting out the house and will wrap all the presents this evening. Then tomorrow I have to pack and get the car ready to go to Disneyland Paris!! We get back on Christmas eve and have all the family arriving for Christmas day so I need to be ready! This afternoon we finished putting up all the outdoor lights and all my trees are decorated (although I still plan on buying a couple more baubles from Disneyland Paris to go on my 7 foot Disney tree.) I have a few presents under there that I recieved yesterday from work. Hopefully if I get al lthe wrapping done this evening there will be more under there tomorrow morning.

Do people who plan on buying you a Christmas present ask you what you want? If so, do you tell them? And, what is it that is on your wish list?

Joe and the kids like for me to give them gift ideas.

Some of the "ideas" on my list are:
Shark steam mop
paperbacks on the top ten list
clothes
candles

Only the immediate family asks.....I have a wish list on Amazon I try to keep updated for them to use. My birthday is in January, so I try to keep it updated until after that.

Mostly DVDs, some kitchen items, some board games for the family to play

Kirby...LOVE my Shark steam mop!!

Me too. :thumbsup2

Yes my sister always ask for ideas. I tell her just get us Disney gift cards, but the nearest Disney store is 30 miles and she won't go that far, plus she doesn't have a CC so no getting them online either.

yeah, sometimes my family and BF will ask and I'll tell them, but my mom is pretty good at getting things I like. and BF knows that if he gives me ANYTHING that comes out of a Barnes & Noble, i'll love it. i'm like the easiest person in the world to buy for :)

Kitchen stuff, pony tail holders, Sugar Free Chocolate, body shop soaps, and K- cups for my Keurig coffee maker. DH swears that I'm the hardest person to buy for, but I don't need alot, and if I need anything I usually can pick it up cheap at my fav discount store.
