1) Bottled water
2) Candles
3) Non-perishable food
4) Batteries
5) If it was a snowstorm, I'd also buy salt and make sure we had shovels to dig out

About the only thing I would need to get is bottled water, other wise we are always ready for at leat a week without power.

Boy, does this question hit close to home! We lost power for 68 hours last week--from Saturday night until Tuesday late afternoon. It wasn't fun. Luckily, we did have running water & were able to use the stove. but now I've stocked up on batteries & flashlights, LOL.

But if another storm was coming, I'd buy:
bottled water
battery operated can opener--I can't stand the manual ones!
canned goods (to replace the ones we used)
bread
ice--to keep some things like milk, butter, etc. cold in our cooler.

I'd also charge my cell phone, portable DVD player, etc. I was going nuts with nothing to do!

For Easter, my family and I will be going to my aunty's house where there will be both adults, and kids there. We will have an egg hunt followed by lunch, so I am thinking of what to bring. I will already bring a dessert or two, but I also need to figure out one or two other dishes. What should I bring? I am looking for something that does not need refrigeration since it will be outside, and a hot day.

Rachael Ray has a few different salads that don't have mayo so that you don't have to refrigerate them.

Or you could get something like this to keep foods cool.

I would take deviled eggs and/or potato salad and keep them in a cooler until you need them. And plan on throwing away all that's not eaten when you are done.

Spaghetti salad

a large package of spaghetti
i bottle of italian dressing
1/2 container of salad seasoning (found with spices made by McCormick)
tomatoes- cut up
Green onions- cut up and any other veggies you want to add

cook spaghetti per package
add dressing, seasoning and veggies mix together and put in fridge overnight
stir and add a little seasoning on top.

Welcome back.

I think we will have a bunch of deviled eggs on our menus once Easter is over because of the egg hunt, so I will stay away from it. But, it is something that I did make before .

If you were to go underwater in a submarine, what one thing do you wish you would be able to see? Ex. sunken ship, a type of marine life....?

Any type of marine life, especially a giant squid.
