Exchange US $ : now or wait?

Hey there fellow canadians!

So, we're leaving in less than three weeks and we're about to exchange some money for US $ but I'm wondering : the exchange rate is now about 0.96$. With the budget crisis, will the rate get better for us, canadian travelers, or will it be worst?

We usually exchange near that 0.96$ rate but if it's going to be better, I'll just wait a bit more...

Well, it really depends how long the debt "crisis" in the U.S. lasts. The markets will react if there is any perceived danger of a default. Now, if anyone knew what exactly will happen, let alone when, they could make a lot of money! I suggest you purchase US funds in accordance with your original plans.
DH and I exchange about $100 a month, so market fluctuations don't affect us a lot over time. This is what I suggest to all my friends.
