with the exchange rate from sterling to dollars being so good at the moment, would it be cheaper to hire a car stateside?

Amazing prices, especially with the exchange rate! The service is faultless - you simply pay a small deposit and the rest to the rental agency (alamo) when you arrive. They are easy to reach and very friendly. Highly recommended!

Be a little careful booking direct, as a lot of the deals are for US residents only and will only apply if you have a US Drivers Licence. Read the small print carefully and make sure you have adequate insurance.

Trying to book the car as you step off the plane is unlikely to yeild any bargains, so do careful research before you commit.

Hi, I just checked both of the sites mentioned and YesCarHire.com still comes out miles cheaper. And you get a free tank of fuel and multiple driver coverage - still cheaper. Hope this helps.
