Hi, we are going for 16 nights but we'll not be in Disney parks for 6/7 days so we'll have an excess of QS credits left. We are already doubling up some of our TS credits (so will be able to use some of these extra QS for our evening meals) but are most likely to have 3/4+ QS left. We usually only eat cereal/toast in our room for breakfast (OKW) but I'm thinking we can now use those excess QS credits for some brekkies. popcorn::

We like breakfast early so we can get to the parks early - is there anywhere which serves breakfast from 7/8am??

Failing that, what other options do we have to use excess QS credits Cheers :)

I would use them at Earl of Sandwich! Nice to have as a snack in the room.

Thanks!

Where do I find opening times for EOS or any other QS (resort) restaurants? Are they on here somewhere?

the Downtown Disney restaurants do not open that early for breakfast...think Earl opens around 8:30, and Wolfgang Puck more like 9:00. And you'd have to have a car to get over there because the boats from OKW to Downtown don't start running until like 11:00.

Old Key West does have a counter service available there (Goods to Go) and they start serving breakfast at 7:30...

check menu here:

Otherwise, you could always get the "continental breakfast" option the night before at the counter service place and take it back to your room. For a counter service credit you could get a pastry, a fruit and a bottled drink. Put the pastry in a ziplock bag to keep it fresh overnight and you'd have a continental breakfast in your room to eat as early as you wanted.

Thanks, we drive to the parks as opposed to using the transport so that's not a problem, shame DTD don't open earlier though.

I wasn't sure if the Goods to Go had breakfast items and if it opens at 7.30, that is brill :goodvibes

Not sure of the set up at your resort cs location, but another option would be to get sandwiches from the grab and go along with side and bottled beverage and take them with you on your off property days

Good idea! Although not sure that US/IOA/Seaworld etc let you take food into their parks??

The resort QS locations often allow 3 snack items to be purchased for the QS credit. My understanding is this isn't a hard and fast rule, but I've read about plenty of people here on the Disboards being able to do this. On our last trip, I had a couple QS credits left on our last day. We were staying at the Poly, so when we ate lunch at Captain Cooks on our last day, I bought 6 snack items to use up the last 2 QS credits. The snacks were great for the plane ride home.

I took in a small soft sided cooler into Sea world with some snacks and drinks. You could not bring in any hard coolers or any big ones esp. with wheels. You could also leave your food in a cooler in the car if you get to park close by.

Two more things : We tried to get some grab and go sandwiches in the
morning to take on a day trip - tried both CBR and POP and none of them had them out that early. We should have bought them the day before.
Sea World food is terrible. I wish we has brought lunch in or left to eat somewhere else. We ended up eating 2 lunches and 1 dinner there due to not wanting to leave the park b/c it was Christmas week and it was taking us a long time to do things.

I just got back Sunday and had the same problem. The night before we came home we had 12 credits left. We ended up getting 2 entrees and bringing them to the room to snack on and then ate supper later that night. In the morning for breakfast we got 6 breakfast entrees and tried to eat as much as we could. We mainly got the fruit/pastry and saved the drinks for the trip back

My DH didn't stay our entire last trip (work), so we had excess CS credits as well...

You can also use a CS more like a snack:

Epcot-French Counter Service..I got cheese plate, pastry, and slushee for 1 CS and DS and I shared this as a snack

Resort- they let me get fruit salad, side salad, and a drink as 1 CS

We also took a few meals from Magic Kingdom bakery on our way out for the car ride home

There have been a number of disboarders reporting back that as of Jan 1 they are no longer allowing this. No more picking up 3 Mickey rice crispie treats for a CS credit, for example.

purple figment is right, as of Jan. 1st you can no longer get any 3 snack items for 1 CS. Too bad as we did this quite often in Oct. 2011.

We always have CS and SC to use up on our last few days. We too don't do the parks everyday plus of course last year you got 2 SC per person.

We used our last CS for sandwiches for the plane ride home. We also used a few to bring home Mickey Rice Krispies for souvenirs (can't do this any more)

On the days when we weren't doing Disney we picked up sandwiches, etc. to take along. We like getting them at EoS.

Last year one of our new favorite CS locations was the Contempo Cafe in the Contemporary. We had dinner there twice and breakfast once. The breakfast was basicaly the same as served at POP but it was okay. Our best breakfast CS was WPE on our last day. They only serve from 9-11 a.m.

Contempo Cafe opens at 6 a.m. and since you have a car you won't have any problem getting there. You could even eat there on a day you go to MK. Just park in the TTC lot, monorail over to Contempo and then after you are finished take the monorail to MK. You could also transfer over at the TTC to the EPCOT monorail.

We usually don't use our CS for breakfast until towards the end of our trip. That way we make sure we have enough CS left for our last day/plan trip.

BTW, I have a review of CC in my QSDP review. Link is in siggy.
