EXCELLENT Alamo rate!

I just booked using the walmart contract id, the alamo coupon and the BY code and got a rate of $132.35 for almost 8 days.. I cant believe it.. My question is why are the SUV's much cheaper then the smaller vehicles? Is it because gas is so expensive? Either way I will be in Orlando and having fun. Thank you to everyone who posts here.. I have paid twice that to drive a alero..thanks again everyone :thumbsup2

I just booked using the Wal-Mart contract 430710, rate code BY and the $25 Alamo coupon D24C for 4/21 @ 10am through 5/6 at 5pm--which is 15 days and 7 hours at an all-inclusive rate of $315 for a full-size SUV.

However, the Alamo coupon says minimum 3 day rental and maximum 14 days. The reservation system accepted it. When I tried to use the BJs coupons they come up with "reservation exceeds maximum rental allowance" or something like that. This one did not. Do you think I will have a problem when we pick up the vehicle.?

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but using the exact same codes, I am getting an Alamo rate for October on a Toyota Sienna that is $80 higher including everything than my current ressie with National Emerald Reserve, using nothing but my emerald club code.

I would keep checking....I dont think the discounts will be great this far in advance....we are traveling in August and although our rate (12 days minivan for a total of $450) seemed really, really good at the time of booking and AM getting a little jealous of everyone elses rates!! I have not seen comparable rates for August yet but intend on continuing to check periodically.

Just thought that I'd post the great rate I got this morning through Alamo. I check daily and expect it to go down even more as we get closer to August, but I had almost a $90 drop today.

From 8/18 10am - 8/26 3pm, I have a rate of $330.62 for a minivan. I used ID # 675899, code BY and coupon DU3B. I also just checked using ID# 430710, code BY and coupon D24C and I also got the same rate.

I was very happy about this drop and would like to get my rental under $300 before I leave.

Oh - one catch, we are flying into Tampa (it's cheaper for us than Orlando was at the time).

Maybe this could help someone!

All I can say is DEFINITELY KEEP CHECKING RATES... I started with a minivan for 8 days @ $330 and now have my minivan for $150ish (forget exactly). My trip is the beginning of May but I first booked back around Christmas time. I've checked dozens of times (more than that, I'm sure) but it has been worth it. So for those of you who don't have a super great rate as of yet, just keep checking! Good luck!! :sunny:

Just wanted to give some encouragement to those trying to make a ressie for months out from now and are thinking they are not putting their codes in right.

Just keep checking. I am trying to make ressie for a trip in Dec. as well as one for early May. For May I got a great rate on a minivan for 10 days ($180) but for Dec. I get rates in the $500-600 range for 12 days.

Just keep checking!

Edit: Typo

If you use in the corpt. I.D "PREPAY" and pay for your rental now you will get another 15% off the your rate. Has anyone pre paid their rental before ? any problems ?

We pre-paid for next week. I am nervous and hope there are no issues. We are paying $280 for a mini van for 6 days - that's with all of the fees, taxes AND a car seat rental. I'll post when I get back on the 17th and let you know if we had any problems. :)

I KNOW! It's awesome, isn't it??!! My rental for that same time period started out over $200 and is now a mere $115! :thumbsup2

Are these prices you are posting the cost before fees or are they included. I have the entertainment book and used the alamo coupon DZ3B and ID# 7000440. With all taxes and fees for a Grand Jeep Cherokee or a Chevy Trailblazer was $197.92 for 7 days. I looked on the site and it was like $140 or $150 before taxes and fees. Let me know if I can do better

How would I go about doing this? I have Alamo reservations for next week. Would this be a new reservation or adjusted, or what, and do they honor all these discounts during Easter holidays?
Thanks,
Joe

Can the Alamo experts help me out? I booked my reservation back on 2/12 using coupon code DZ3B, ID 430710 and rate code BY. My total is 142.93 for 8 1/2 days for a mid-size SUV for the end of June/early July.

My question is where did I get the coupon code DZ3B-is that an Ent book coupon? Also do I need anything else (proof wise) for the ID or rate codes? I honestly cannot remember where I get the coupon code and want to be sure I'm all set.

I purchased an Ent book but am still waiting to get it from my friend who sold them for a fundraiser. If I need that Ent coupon I'll have to beg for one!

I just booked at the Sanford, FL airport using the same codes as WeLoveDis. We're getting a trailblazer (or similar). Our rate was quite a bit higher, about $220 total, including taxes and fees. Would this be because it's a different airport?

DZ3B is a coupon out of the Entertainment Book for $20 off a weekend rental. I applied it to a 6 day rental and it accepted it. You will need the actual coupon to turn in when you pick up your car.

ETA: Also you are not "supposed" to combine ID numbers like the Walmart code with Ent. coupons. The Ent. coupons have their own ID # to use.

Well, I tried coupon D24C and knocked another $5 off my reservation. Any idea where that coupon came from ??

Edited: When we printed the confirmation, it said it's the 2006 Entertainment book web offer. Cool beans.

Kari-
So should I be using the EB code as well? Has anyone been able to keep their ressie with the EB coupon & WM code? Just don't want to have a hassle when we get there, we are so used to EA that going to the counter will be hard enough, though I do have Quicksilv*r so hopefully that will help.
TIA!
