Excel worksheet for Budget

Hope one of you can help this excel challenged newbie

I'm trying to copy / paste some misc. numbers and addresses into my excel sheet, (a google document) and it won't let me.

Is that because its not possible? Or am I doing something wrong? (no surprise if I am LOL) If so, what am I doing wrong?

Did you create the spreadsheet in Google docs yourself or did someone share it with you?

If it's a share, the owner of the Doc could have it set to view only.

Are you pasting from an excel spreadsheet to a google docs spreadsheet? Could the excel sheet be protected?

I did save the document, and yes, I can type into it. But I'd like to be able to copy / paste into it, to save time mostly.

Someone sent an excel spreadsheet to my gmail account, so I opened it into a google doc. Not sure what you mean by the excel sheet being protected?

The google docs seem to work better for me, with the exception of being able to copy from another site and paste into the document (hope that made sense?)
