Does anyone know, once you've hit "Save", is there any way to "undo" in Excel or retrieve the former document? I meant to hit "save as" and hit "save"...thus deleting a large section of a document. :badpc: :badpc:

Is the portion you deleted perhaps saved in your clipboard?

Open up Excel and select the whole worksheet in a new document and select Paste. Perhaps your data is on the clipboard.

the only other possibility that I know right now, and time is of the essence, would be to go to your TMP folder and see if a large file is there about the same time you remember deleting/changing the data. Perhaps you got an auto TMP save.

change the tmp file to an .xls extension and check.

You can't use the "undo" key to undo the save. However, you may be able to use undo to get back what you deleted. Good luck.

If you're on a PC at home that's not networked then I'd say your hosed. If however you're on a networked PC and you saved it to a network drive then contact your IS and ask them to load yesterday's file. You'll lose whatever work you did today, but it'll be back.

Good Luck

Thank you all for your help. I am on a network computer at my office, but the call I put in to tech support at 7:55 this morning still hasn't been returned, so I just re-typed it myself. So much for "support", huh? :p
