Exactly what do they consider short then???

I am really a big fashion don't. Not only do I refuse to wear high heels with my jeans, I actually like mom jeans! :rotfl:

I have to admit I feel rather liberated by getting rid of my mom jeans. :cool1: :thumbsup2 I don't like anything right around my waist, and I don't like all the extra material or long zipper in the mom jeans. Low rise (or mid) works great for me. I find it works better for petites in general.

However every body type is different, so it is good they make different kinds.

No high heels with jeans for me. Are you kidding? No heals unless I am going to a wedding or some other fancy occasion. (I did find a pair of strappy sandals I do love though.)

Last year I couldn't find any shirts that didn't go down past my bum. They looked funny. I had to buy all my shirts at places that had peite sizes. (Like jjill.) This year most of shirts at khols are just fine. I wonder what was up with that. :confused3

Now, see, I'm just a smidge over 5'9" and I love both Old Navy and New York & Co because they are the only pants long enough for me. I guess I just have longer legs than the typical 5'9"er.

I think everyone who doesn't measure between 5'3" and 5'7" has trouble!

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I am slightly under 5', and I recently tried two pairs of petite pants on at Talbots that were about an inch too SHORT on me with sneakers. And no, they weren't supposed to be capris. Not sure what that was all about.

Tunics are in this season. Of course, I think you're supposed to wear leggings with them.

Now there's a trend that I'm not so sure about. :confused3

The fashion industry expects us all to be 5'10" and size 2 like their models.

I'm 5'2" and fit into the size 2 but the pant legs are freakishly too long and forget hemming them b/c they look stupid! The proportion is totally off on many pants once you hem them 3 or more inches. Ridiculous!!!!! I hate the petite dept. b/c many of the pants are elastic waist and I hate that, too.

I went pants shopping last weekend and found absolutely nothing that fit nicely or that I liked. V. disappointing! What happened to selling jeans w/varying lengths and waist sizes ... you know ... 32 waist, 32 length or 32 waist, 34 length or 32 waist 36 length so you could get a pair in your waist and length?! They do it for men ... why not women?!!? Stupid, stupid, stupid! I remember years ago (in the stone age) when women could buy jeans like that at the Gap!

There is a store called Vanity I think (I really don't know, just heard about it.) that sells jeans that way.

As far as tunics go, these were just normal shirts. The trend was just very long and tight. Not a good look if you are short, it bunchs up about your middle (not my best feature, heck my butt is better then my middle, but they want to cover that up.)

Anyway my also short neice did find a tunic that looks great on her. Who knew? :) She just wears jeans with them. I remember leggings, heck I might still have some in a box in my basement.

I loved, loved, loved leggings in the 80's. I'm just not sure if a 40 year old could (or should) get away with them.

I did read an editor's review of them, from I think Marie Claire? Anyway, she's my age and she said that yes, we can get away with them!

I'll have to wait for them to really, really catch on before I try them. The upside, is that they'll probably be the right length!
