I’ve been lurking sporadically for a while and have finally worked up the nerve to join. I’m a complete newbie at posting as this is the first forum I’ve ever joined - hopefully the learning curve isn't too steep! We (I, DH, DS8 and DS1) will be visiting DL (our 8th visit as a family) before our Mexican Riviera cruise this August. Being stuck indoors due to the smoke from the Northern California wildfires (we’re sandwiched between the two biggest fires), I’ve spent much of the past few days lurking and learning, and couldn’t resist any longer.

Fortunately we're not directly threatened by any fires right now - just really bad, off-the-charts, air quality (for the past week, we haven't been able to see our neighbor's house across the street). Bad enough to disable the air quality monitors and cause some serious health warnings. It's been a frustrating couple of weeks, especially for the kids, who are missing their summer. But we are thankful that that's all we have to deal with - there are so many Northern Californians who are much worse off from these fires.
