Do guides ever make their own call to "stop selling" to a given prospect? (Might the guide steer sideways of a sale if their read of the prospect informed him/her that a purchase would be too difficult to carry by that prospect? Might the guide do similarly if they felt the prospect was an utter mis-fit for ownership?) I ask as we were, after a few minutes of small talk with sales staff from a certain non-DVC timeshare, immediately steered away from purchase. The salesman told us, "You wouldn't like it here." I'm not sure what he picked up in our chatter/small talk or what his intentions were ... but he wouldn't give us a tour.
