I don't really get announcing it publicly, either. Tell your therapist, tell your family and close friends. Splashing it on my home page is extreme. I don't need to know this, and cathartic or not, show a little restraint!

It is SO gross and SO incomprehensible I can't imagine why she felt it was appropriate to announce it. Isn't her dad DEAD? Not like the negative publicity is going to bother him!

I'm in complete agreement here. Tell a therapist, your signifigant other...but really, what did she accomplish by sharing this with us? Me thinks her book sales WILL go up Oddly, her mother, stepmother and a few other family members ALL say NO way did John do it. The ONLY one to stand by her is her half sister Chyna, who says she really belives it. I don't know if it did or didn't happen, I'm still reeling over the fact she is talking about it. EWWWWW!

Everybody already knew she was a complete mess. Fine. But her apparent need to be crowned "Most Dysfunctional EVER" is another issue. She seems to have a need to shock and horrify people with tales of her younger days.

Like a little kid on the playground trying to one-up the other kids. "Yeah? Well, I was ABUSED! Yeah? Well, I did drugs! Yeah, well I had sex with my FATHER!" If one statement didn't boost her freak status high enough she fired off another one.

I guess I don't get why she thought this was a cool thing to publicize. It hasn't made me sympathetic, it doesn't make me want to read (let alone BUY) her book. It just repulses me. That's it!

I don't pretend to know the motivation behind public disclosure, however there is some room to think that public disclosure might help someone else going through the same thing realize that they can speak up and stop the abuse?
