EWP group?

Hi, Everyone!

And thanks so much for all of your wonderful advice - I appreciate your taking the time to share your experiences with me! I know that everything will be OK - I guess I just have a lot on my mind and am just anxious about "THE FUTURE" in general (ie: with DF, the future of my job / job security, etc.) On top of that, I believe that I have a sinus infection which causes me to have debilitating headaches in the middle of the night, every night - UGH - time to see a doctor. Maybe someone could send that attractive resort Doctor, whom Fabio mentioned to Janet, over to the Suite!

I'm afraid that I am not brave enough to take scuba lessons, Janet, but I sure am enjoying watching you and Helenabear take them.......from that amazing instructor, Fabio Licious!

Welcome back, Angelina! And hope that your ankle is feeling better!

How is your sister enjoying The DIS so far, Rafiki x 3? Looking forward to seeing Buckalew, soon!

The spa treatment sounds wonderful, Webmaster CC! Maybe while the Jacuzzi Brothers are putting the finishing touches on our tub, they can begin taking measurements for an entire spa room for us, so that we won't have to leave the Suite in order to pamper ourselves! Maybe Jean Paul can recommend some of his friends to be on call for our new spa room!

Congratulations on your new home, Helenabear! When will you be moving into it? I'm sure that you and DH will have a lot of fun decorating it! And I cannot believe that you have never seen Fantasmic!! We'll have to run over to the Studios and see it, tonight!

Slightly Goofy and Bashful64 - may I join you at the Coral Reef, please? I have never been there before, but I understand that it is wonderful!

Thanks so much again for all of your kind words of wisdom and support, Everyone!

:)

I'm going to pop over to the thread which Janet mentioned and extend an invitation to the folks meeting at the GF on the 4th!

Have a nice day! :)

Hi everyone!!!

You know I think we will just have to get Jean Paul over here once in a while for everyone. My DH jokes saying I was in love with another man while honeymooning with him, but let me tell you Jean Paul had the most amazing hands. If I could have brought him home with me just for his hands, I would have. Since the GF spa isn't so far away, I am sure he could stop by just for us to use when we need a good massage.

We are moving into our house sometime around September. The previous owners who are technically renting our house from us :D are building a house and getting terrible service so they are way behind on schedule. We are happy to own a home and can't wait to move in, but I am really feeling bad for those people. They were told JULY now they are being told Sept... they just want the occupancy permit so they can move. We'll see though. Oh I do have pictures of the house from the inspection. You can see them here

I know I am awful, I haven't seen Fantasmic. I just don't personally ever spend much time at MGM, so I have never stuck around for it I guess...

Well I have to get back to work. But I certainly enjoyed spending part of my lunch with you guys!

Hi Helenabear!

Your new house looks great! You must be so excited! I hope that you don't mind, but while I was there, I looked at the rest of your site, too! I really enjoyed seeing the photo of you and your DH and reading the great story about how you met! And I loved seeing the photos of your kitties, too! They are both adorable! Your Cleo looks a lot like my Ragoo! I, too, am done with my lunch / DIS break - back to work! Hope that you (and Everyone else) are having a great day!

:)

Hello everyone!

ISAW Rider, I am so glad that you liked the photos of everything. And of course I do not mind that you went peering around the rest of the site... some of it is from 1996 with minor updates, but the house, the kitties and the story about Luis and I are fairly new. I invite everyone to look as you like on my site. I don't give anything away that I would't want the public to read. Cleo is pretty beautiful isn't she (if I don't mind saying so... and bragging about my babies) and Gwen just grows every day. I have more recent pictures I will put up soon showing how big the "little" one really is.

You know as I was lounging in the jacuzzi drinking my lemonade after a wonderful hour with Jean Paul, I started thinking, what is everyone's real first name. So if you don't mind sharing, it might be kind of nice to put a first name to a user name... and in my case you can even see a picture of myself on the internet. So I will start of by saying my first name is Elaine. I do put that in my signature as well and I go by anything since I am the youngest of three I was called my siblings names (and even my brother's). My user name is a little more interesting how I got it. My confirmation name is Helena (pronounced Elena but I do respond to any way you thought it would be pronounced as well) and in high school I was called "Elaine Bear" and "Pooh Bear". A guy I dated in high school started the "Elaine Bear" because he had a cat named "Sue Bear" and I supposedly have many cat like qualities so he called me that. The double meaning came with the fact that I love Pooh, so that is where the "Bear" in my nicknames really stuck. So when I got tired of people knowing my real first name in Yahoo chats many many years ago, I adopted the username 'helenabear'. I use it a lot for these types of things and it seems to be a good part of me. So since I shared that much of me, I want to say here's a picture that is only a year old of Luis and myself, so you can put a face to a name US. It's a big picture otherwise I'd put it here. It's funny, I never noticed until those pictures were taken that I had a dimple on my right cheek... and I always wanted dimples :) So I know I shared a lot about myself and it would be neat if anyone else would like to share anything (like a name) if not, I completely understand. Fortunatley I feel fairly safe here and since they haven't pinned a face to that crime.... ;)

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening! So who is going to join us for Fantasmic?

Great picture of you and your DH, Luis, Elaine / Helenabear! Thanks so much for sharing it with us! :) And thanks for sharing the story of your DIS name, too!

My name is Lisa, DF's name is Frank, and if you haven't already been bored by our WDW Yahoo photo albums, there are 2 photos of me (one with Frank) in the DIS Family Album under the letter "L"! I still haven't figured out how to post photos within a post or add one to my signature, even though Dan was kind enough to point me in the right direction! Just can't seem to get it! And I'm sure that you all know how I chose my DIS name - I just like to ride IASW!

:)

Sorry that this is such a short post, but believe it or not, I have yet another sinus headache......and I have to get rid of it quickly, so that we can head over to Fantasmic! Have a good night, Everyone! :)

Well, my screen name is so exotic and my real name is so very, very ordinary. Linda. You cannot go anywhere and call that name without someone responding and it is usually someone of about my age. Funny thing is that my DIL is named Linda also and since our son is named after his dad it causes some funny and not so funny moments. I am the oldest of 8 (from Southern Ohio) and my mom often went thru a half dozen names when callling any of us before she got it right. LOL You are so young Helenabear. I may be the oldest one on this thread. Not a bad thing as I always wanted more kids and I will just adopt you all. LOL

I enjoyed touring your house, Helenabear. I just love house shopping on the internet. Your place is so cozy and nice looking. Lots of cute touches. I can see a tiny porch on the front with those little built in seats on either side and rose bushes on either side of the porch. I love the back deck. I will wave as we drive by on our next trip to Columbus.

Janet, you are too much. Mouth to mouth, oh my. Those chest compressions and leg lifts are too bad either. (grin)

Bashful, what a wonderful choice, the Coral Reef restaurant. I have never been there before. I went to a Bass Pro Shop restaurant that had a huge fish tank on the back wall. Fish are so very relaxing and the food was not too bad either. Don't know that I could bear to order a fish dish though. LOL You are a great picker. Thank you so much. It was so nice getting to know one another.

The closest I have ever gotten to a massage is the fact that my 4 year old grandson loves to lay across my lap and have me tickle his back. I sure hope he gets a good education so he can afford these luxuries when he outgrows my tender loving care. LOL

Cathy, you seem to know where to find the best men just like Janet. I will have to read carefully and get some lessons from you gals. Well, maybe not as I don't think my DH would take that too kindly. I will just live vicariously through you youngsters.

I have a half of a sinus infection myself so I think I will make it an early night. After playing miniature golf most of the day I think I need the rest. Think we could get Tiger to come and give us some lessons?

Jacuzzi, here I come. Tall iced tea and a beaver tail to cap off the day. I promise not to get crumbs in the tub.

Slightly Goody

Well girls, my real name is Paige, just in case you didn't know. I'm a mom of 3 girls--two naturals and one step, but I am raising all of them to the best of my abilities. They are 11, 3, and 3 months. I stay at home and take care of the youngest 2 while their daddy trains young men to fly the Air Force's T-1. And I must say, some of those young men are very nice looking ;) (love you dear)!

Back in the old days before marrying a Republican, I used to work helping Democrats get elected to office (our clients always won...including Bill) and helped with numerous other political causes. Remind me to tell you all sometime about the time I met George Stephanopolous. (Sorry if I slew your name, George).

Anyway, girls...my sister is in from out of town with her kids, and I'm going to visit with her this week. I'll be back to the Jacuzzi next week.

BTW, say a prayer for my friend Amy. She's going to have surgery next week and could really use a prayer or two.

Paige

Rafiki (Paige) I am sending pixie dust to your friend Amy. I hope it is simple surgery and she will be up and around in no time.

I have two children. My husband has a daughter from his first marriage. It is kind of a funny situation as we only met her a few years ago and she is close to my age. I would like to be her friend but well - here is a for instance. After her first visit she called to tell us that she had the part of Catwoman in the new "Batman" movie and needed $5,000 for acting lessons. I try to encourage my DH to keep in contact with her but she sure does make it difficult at times. Our children are grown with children of their own and my DH retired a couple of years ago. I see two of my grands on an almost daily basis but the others are homeschooled and their parents do not want any outside influences so they do not let the kids go anywhere. I read an average of a book a day, garden, tutor my oldest grandson and others and do volunteer work in our tiny town. (museum, library, schools and wherever I can help) We travel quite a bit.

My DH is a Democrat and I am a Republican but we both vote independent as heck. Haven't really been excited about a politician since Barry Goldwater and you guys are far too young to even know who he was. BUT he is still right, after all these years, IMHO (grin)

We live in a huge old house that I remodel from time to time. I do the simple jobs and when it is beyond my ken I have a wonderful neighbor who is retired and very handy. When I finish one room it is time to start on another. 18 rooms. I am considering a huge downsize in the near future.

I look forward to my virtual visits and can really see myself in any given place. We love to take long visits so the pressure of doing it all is gone. 10 days in November coming up. I am getting so many great ideas from you all. This will be our 12? trip.

I see that everyone else is out and about this morning so I had better get myself in gear and join you all in whatever adventures you have planned for the day.

Slightly Goofy

Well I am just stopping in to say hi to everyone!!!

Paige I will say a prayer for your friend and send a lot of PD her way. I wanted to thank Paige & Linda for sharing (and I will say that must be odd at your house sometimes Linda with those names ;) ) more about yourself. Oh and thank you Slightly Goofy for your suggestions for the house... I dream a lot right now until we can move ;) I also hope you do not have a sinus infection. My dad gets them all the time and I see how miserable he can be with them.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow, I am off to shop for a comforter for my grandmother... and that should be a big trip! So I am going to spend the rest of my evening lounging in the jacuzzi and enjoying the wonderful men that Cathy & Janet find for us!

Elaine, your home is lovely, very warm and welcoming, I know you and Luis will be very happy there.

Paige, hope all goes well with Amy's surgery

Here is a little about me. Been a SAH Mom since '96, found DIS in '98 and within 6 months starting doing writing for the site. Shocked the heck out of me when Pete asked, I had never considered myself a writer before. My DH is in Finance dept in the automotive industry, and I have 2 terrific kids, Meg (16 and working on driving lessons now....eek!) and Patrick (12, brilliant kid, also happens to be deaf so we learned to sign). We are DVC members so go to WDW at least once a year. Working for Dreams I travel more (meetings, research, etc) and I am the Agent Manager and LOVE MY JOB!! My house is in desperate need of a housekeeper (cuz it ain't me!) and my family has intimate knowledge of all the take-out places around here, but we do our best to get by. :) They all tolerate my addiction (Meg is a poster here too and it was Jim's idea to buy DVC). I'm no little Suzy Homemaker (wish I was) but they love me anyway!! And I adore them!!

Looking for the rest of you to join us in the jacuzzi as Kas and Don serve ice cold drinks and perhaps some appetizers (hey it's OUR jacuzzi, we can eat in it if we want to!) ;)

Who is next?
CC

Cathy, I am so glad that you liked our house as well. Of course when we move, you are all welcome for a visit!

WOW this is a gorgeous day here. I am soaking it in the jacuzzi and took it upon myself to get our beautiful men to serve me some cheese and crackers while I am in the jacuzzi. The guys are wonderful about cleaning any and every crumb that might make it's way into the water. I also recently spent a lot of time on the "Digital Disney" website. It is great to be able to ride all the rides that are now gone. I am thinking maybe tonght I will have to head over to EPCOT for a while. I wasn't able to see Illuminations 2000 while I was there (it was very windy the days we went to EPCOT) so tonight looks like it will be a great night for that. Anyone care to join?

I will join, Helenabear / Elaine! We saw I2K and ToN when we were at WDW last year, but a huge thunderstorm prevented us from seeing either, this year, as they were both cancelled. :(

Sorry that I have been away for a bit - haven't been feeling very well. Went to the doctor yesterday and it turns out that not only do I have a sinus infection, but I also seem to have contracted a yucky case of poison ivy.......probably while doing a tiny bit of weed pulling behind my house last week. All this to say, between the 2 "illnesses" I have barely been able to sleep - UGH. And the antibiotic that I was prescribed yesterday is making me sick to my stomach. UGH again. Fortunately, Don Juan has been bringing me snacks and drinks in bed, so it is not all bad! I trust that I will be up and walking around in time for our evening jaunt to EPCOT!

I hope that all is well with your friend, Paige, and will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks so much to everyone for sharing your lives and families with us!

I know exactly how you feel, SlightlyGoofy / Linda - I can barely go anywhere, myself, without at least 3 other people having my name! Even my best friend from high school shares the name "Lisa"! (it was really cute when she and I were dating 2 boys in high school, who happened to be twins - Lisa & Lisa & the twins........!) And I didn't realize that you have 7 siblings - that is great! I am an only child and always wished for a sibling or two. And I would be happy to be "adopted" by you, if you don't mind! (by the way, I'm going on month #2 of my mother not speaking to me, except in front of DF. I give up - there is no way to reason with her without her yelling at and berating me, so I choose to accept the silence. UGH for the third time.) I think it's wonderful that you are building a relationship with your step daughter, no matter how difficult it may seem at times, and that you are encouraging your DH's relationship with her. I wish that I had more time to volunteer, as you do, because I think that it's a wonderful thing to do! When I was in college, I actually was the President of a co-ed Community Service Fraternity (ie: our pledge requirements were doing a specified number of hours of different types of community service, and our "brotherhood" - yes women were "brothers", too! - maintained and ran at least 30 different community service projects per year, in which everyone participated). Although we were a recognized "fraternity", we didn't all live in the same house - as we had a co-ed membership! Strangely enough, DF also belonged to the same fraternity - at the same college - but he is 6 years older than I am, so he was out of school before I began, so we didn't know each other until we worked together years later! Anyway, I digress......I think that volunteer work is great and fulfilling and hope that I will have some time to become involved again in the future!

Your former career sounds really interesting, Paige, as does your DH's! Would love to hear about the time that you met George Stephanopoulos, too!

And your career sounds amazing, as well, Cathy! Do you basically work from your home? Is your family able to travel with you when you are travelling for work?

Hope that your shopping trip went well, Elaine!

Well, I am going to continue getting some rest so that I can be ready for more adventures! Have a great weekend, Everyone!

:)

Hi all, just popping in to say hi real quick for the evening before I head back out for fireworks at EPCOT! The shopping went great today and by the Grace of God, we only took 15 minutes! My grandmother was really decisive and got a great comforter for only $20!!! So we all were lucky and had a great lunch afterwards as well with my dad and sister.

ISAW Rider/Lisa, I do hope you are feeling better. How awful to have both a sinus infection AND poison ivy. A friend told me that in order to kill poison ivy, wash things with Clorox bleach and dabbing it on small bumps helps to dry them up. So every time she works out in the yard, she washes up with bleach. Sounds odd but she hasn't been bothered by it yet and I have SEEN her pick that nasty stuff up. Myself I have never come across it as far as I know, and I hope to keep it that way. I am so sorry that you and your mom aren't getting along. It is such a sad thing when that happens. Sometimes I think if people knew how short life really was, then they wouldn't be acting the way they do sometimes. I would have given anything in the world to have my mom there at the wedding (physically) but obviously that is imposible since she has been gone since Dec of '93. I think it is wonderful that Slightly Goofy/Linda is trying so hard with her DH to communicate with your step daughter. It can be rough I am sure but I think that in the long run everyone will feel better in the end.

Before I head out, I too am interested in Cathy's work life. It sounds so interesting and something that I really would love to do someday. I plan to be a homemaker (and if I am lucky, I'll stay at home with any kids we may be blessed with) and that sounds like something great to take up some of my time with and to keep in touch with the outside world ;) So please Cathy, tell us what it is like!

Well I need to fly if we are to make it to the I2K tonight! See you all later.

Hi everyone!

How are you all this evening?

I have just finished an exhausting day at MGM paying Who Wants to be a Millionaire and am now ready to relax in the jacuzzi with a cool drink in hand.

Paige I hope that all goes well for your friend and I will keep her in my prayers.

Helenabear congrats to you and Luis on your new house. I wish you many happy years there.

Cathy...sounds like quite an exciting life. I always thought that being a travel agent (especially one who specialises in Disney) would be such a fun job!

It is nice to hear something about you all. My name is Shannon and my first and most important job is being a mom to Alix (DD age 7), Tyler (DS age 5) and Kaylee (DD age 22 months). We also have 1 dog (a purebread Keeshong named Tia nd two cats Cassie and Meowser). When I am not looking after them I run a company with my DH (Hank). We run a consulting firm which makes custom software for our clients. It keep us quite busy. We live just outside of Vancouver British Columbia.

IASW take care of yourself...it sounds like you are having a pretty rough few days! I am sure that Kas and company can take good care of you.

Well I'm off to the jacuzzi!

Hi, as to introductions, my name is Wendy aka jstmee. Along with being just me, lol, I have a DH who travels all over the country for his job--he manages a Service group for a specialized machine. Since it's a Swiss machine he travels to Switzerland often as well as Mexico. "Poor him"....I only wish it was me. Now for me, I stay at home with my DS Matthew 8, DD Lisa 9---------to all of you Lisa's out there, I love that name and she hates it, she said when she is 18 she's going to change it to Emily. I also have identical twins, turned 13 last week, Mark and Kenny. Staying at home is more difficult than working. I've done everything from ski instruct to manage hotels in my former "life" before children and during children, I went to college for Travel Administration, thus my LOVE for travel and these boards...., now hubby earns enough to allow me the "luxery" of staying home lol, now I find I'm as busy carting children around and volunteering, I teach religous ed to second graders and I am a Junior Girl Scout Leader and I also am a part of a program to try to keep kids off alcohol and drugs and nicotine. We have two hermit crabs and a cat named Mittens, that is a nervous cat, poor thing she throws up practically everyday. We live in Northern Maine which means a lot of snow and cold weather. Well after all this rambling I better get off to MK we have ressies for later tonight at the Polynesian Luau with seats available, anyone care to join me...................:D

IASW, hope you are feeling better!

Elaine, glad the shopping trip was not too bad. Personally I detest shopping (and I call myself a WOMAN??) ;) I need to have a plan, go there get it and leave.

bashful, we love playing Millionnaire, after my DD made it to the hotseat, my DH got hooked on it at home on the computer. :) My SIL lives in Penticton and she will be coming to visit in a couple of weeks. BC is so beautiful!

As for my work, it is the Travel Agency that Pete started here. We only sell Disney because we are Disney experts. I work a LOT as do all of our agents, usually 10-12 hours a day, 7 days a week. We price Disney vacations and when they book, we answer questions, plan itineraries, make reservations and PSs, the whole kit and caboodle. As the VP of Operations, I look after the agents and do content for the site too. But I love it. My family, as I said, is very supportive and I love the luxury of being here to get lunch for Meg who is in High School and being here when Patrick comes home from school off the bus. Of course I have to spend a fair amount of time on the DIS too. I no longer write content here, just edit it, as the Content Webmaster. So I am busy. And I finally hired a housekeeper to come in once a week and will use the time to cook more!!!! After spending $180.00 at the last Pampered Chef party (I LOVE gadgets), I BETTER do more cooking!!! LOL

Enough about me, who is next? :)
How about we meet outside the Fountainview Cafe for a capuccino and watch the dancing fountains this fine Sunday morning? :)

CC

Wow, what an interesting and busy bunch of ladies we have here. It is amazing that everyone finds the time to drop in here but then maybe that is what we all need - a place to gt away for a bit.

I am so enjoying getting to 'know' each of you. It is so much easier to remember who is who when you have something besides a screen name to go by.

I had to pop back to prepare a Brickyard 400 luncheon for my family and friends. We only live about 50 miles from the real thing but being the intelligent people we are we gather around the big screen with the a/c going (98 here today) and eat food that has been prepared in hygenic circumstances and does not require taking out a second mortgage to afford. (smile) While the grownups gather to watch the cars go round and round the youngsters (myself included) will retire to the bedroom for a funfest of Disney videos and books. You just know that is where I prefer to be anyway.

Cathy, I am not much of a shopper either and considering that in my coupon queen days it often required being in a grocery for 4-6 hours at a time it is amazing that I survived. Guess getting all my groceries for free week after week and all those nice freebies (tv's, vcr's vacations etc.) made it that much more interesting. With no good deals around anymore I tend to get in and get out, of course I shop at Aldi's and such a lot too. Would rather read a book plus I am kind of on the cheap side. LOL I would love to have a job like yours. I do a lot of Disney trip planning for friends but I don't get paid. The ARE required to give me a trip report when they return tho. (smile)

Wendy, what a perfect name for a Disneyphile. You are so right that staying home to raise kids is a hard job. There are a few women who sit around and do as little as possible and some people seem to think that is what at SAHM's do but you and I know better. Don't you just hate that "What do you DO for a living"? I have always called myself a "Homemaker" as I made a home literally at times. Bet you find that the skills you learned in your earlier life stand in good stead in this part of your life. So many skills you have to have to run a home and raise a family. Yours is so lucky. I am sure that your DH appreciates how much you do to make his life run smoother. Do you ever get to travel with him?

Helena/Elaine, it tells a lot about what kind of person you are to hear about you taking your grandma shopping. It is wonderful to have a relationship like that. A lot of my friends are older and they give such a special insight on the world and life in general. Everytime she sees her comforter it will make her a bit warmer thinking of your day together.

Rider, I have friends who swear by the bleach for poison ivy also. I hope you are feeling better. It seems to me that small problems can be more painful than large ones sometimes. I hope you are able to sleep as that would make it much worse if you could not. My DD had poison ivy so bad once she had to go to the hospital so I know it is not something to mess around with. Did you know that if you burn the leaves you can get it from the smoke and if you inhale it - oh my goodness- I would not want to think of that.

Bashful, we are big on HWTBAM here also. I am going back to try the game at DW next trip. I got so frustrated last time as I had the answers right most of the time but never did get into the hot seat. I have found some tips on the boards to use for next time. I play trivia with people from all over the world two nights a week and have a blast. Great bunch of people. I have fun even when I don't win.

I had better go check on the bread. After this day I will need the jacuzzi and some TLC from our resident hunks. I won't need any dinner tonight as I always lose my appetite when I cook large meals. Funny thing. No one else does so it must be ok. You are all welcome to come by. Just grab a pillow and find a spot somewhere. We are a friendly bunch.

Slightly Goofy (Linda)

Sounds like everyone is having a good weekend so far. Since I last posted I banged my knee on our footboard of our bed so I am using the jacuzzi in good health. It doesn't hurt too much, but it hurts enough to have to be pampered by our beautiful men ;)

You know I am not much of a shopper myself. I don't mind wandering around a mall and just seeing all there is to see, but when I have to shop I hate it. That was why I wasn't looking forward to shopping with my grandmother. Other wise my Nanna is such a trip. She is so funny and it is hard to believe she is 90 years old. I remember when I was in 8th grade about to be confirmed, I hoped she'd be alive for that... then for my wedding. I am blessed to have such a great grandmother. She was my mom's mom, and I think since my mom died, we have had a special bond. I remind her of my mom and she reminds me of my mom as well.

You know when it comes to shopping, I actually find better deals and things I like when I am not intentionally looking for anything. It might sound so "high schoolish or grade schoolish" but during the summer I go for walks at the local mall because it can get really sticky out here, especially during August. We joke and say we can actually have 100% humidity w/o rain. Well today I went to our local mall and stopped by Lazarus. I found a wonderful fountain that I like and I am lucky because my babies who LOVE water just looked at it but didn't touch it really (thank goodness). The only bad thing was my baby kitten got stuck in the handle of the bag and we had to cut her out. She was a little shaky other wise we would have just backed her out of the bag. Also had she been a little smaller, she would have made it though, but being the 11 pounds she is (at nine month too ) her back end got in the way. No more Lazarus bags for my baby.

Well I had better get away from here and break up the cats "fighting" (they're playing but they are being too loud and rough. I hope everyone has a great last part of the weekend!

Helenabear, you are bringing back old memories for me. I am from a tiny (200 pop.) town down near Athens and I remember my first trip to the big city of Columbus and shopping at Lazarus. I can still remember the outfit I bought that day. I was so proud of myself. LOL

A lot of people here walk in the malls. They even open early for the 'mall walkers". Our local high school allows us to walk in there. It sure is wonderful in the winter or when the weather is hot like now. It is more fun to walk when you have others to walk with. Talking makes the miles go faster. The only problem is that there always seems to be something calling for me to buy it. I can get by Elder Beerman, JC Penneys etc. just fine but that Dollar Tree gets me each and every time.

I hope your poor knee is feeling better. I hit my shins on our bed. For our 25th anniversary we went wild and bought this fantastic bed that cost more than all the other furniture in our (18 room ) house put together. It is solid cherry and is handmade. When we move we have to find a house that will fit the bed!!! My day the family went well. Hardly any leftovers so that is a good sign and a local boy (Gordon) won the race so everyone was happy. I was glad to see them all and glad to be here relaxing in the jacuzzi. I would worry about us spending so much time at DW in the jacuzzi if we did not have such a good view of everything from here. Could you please pass me my drink and we will wait for the EWP together. Hope some of the others come soon and join us. I can't wait to hear what they got up to today.

Slightly Goofy

Hi Everyone!

Elaine and Linda - so people really put bleach - as in Clorox - directly on their skin, and it clears up poison ivy???!! WOW - I've never heard that before! Believe me - at this point, I am willing to try anything - I HAVE HAD trouble sleeping because of it, and when I get out of the shower, my arm itches like anything! UGH! I am using a prescription cream as well as calamine lotion and Gold Bond cream, and it doesn't seem to be going away. Web MD says that the symptoms can take up to 10 days to manifest themselves, much less to heal (so does that mean that I could get more bumps within the next 2 days, as it's already been 8?!). I'm hanging in there - the doctor said that the cream he gave me should work......if not, I'm going to the bleach! Remind me never to walk behind my house again! :)

Aside from whining about not feeling well (hee hee!), my weekend was nice. DF and I went to see "Planet of the Apes", which was good, but nowhere near as good as the original in my opinion! We also went to spend some time with his sister, who just bought a house about 5 miles away from where I live. I was also able to catch up on some much needed rest! Thank you for your kind words and wishes, everyone! Don was kind enough to bring me a non-stop stream of healthy snacks, while Kas prepared a humidifier of sorts to clear my head, while simultaneously rubbing my temples, so I'm beginning to feel much better, now!

Gee, I wonder where Janet is?? Maybe she's enjoying her scuba lessons so much with Mr. Fabio Licious, we will never see her again! :( Janet, oh Janet - are you out there??!! :)

Thanks so much for sharing and telling us about your lives and families, Shannon and Wendy! And thanks so much for the information about your work, Cathy! It really sounds interesting -and busy! Do all of the Agents who work for Dreams Unlimited work from their homes? I'm sure that it is a lot of work, but it sounds like a lot of fun - I'm sure that you get to speak with a lot of interesting people!

I would also love to be a homemaker and be able to devote all my time to the child or children that DF and I will hopefully be blessed with. Unfortunately, I don't think that that will be financially feasible, but it would be wonderful. My father had his own business and aside from going in a few days to help him out, here and there, my mother didn't work outside of the home. So I was lucky enough to have her pick me up from school every day, etc. I wish that I could offer to that to a child of my own, but I don't think that we will be able to do that. Oh well - maybe some day!

It is really wonderful that you have such a close and special relationship with your Grandmother, Elaine! I'm very sorry to hear about your Mother. Thank God your Grandmother is with you and that the two of you can share memories and create new ones together.

There are many people who walk in the malls here, too! Our malls also open early for "mall walkers"! I'm also not a big shopper - particularly in malls. When I have to buy something there, like Cathy, I have to know exactly what I want ahead of time, buy it, then get out of there as quickly as possible! I much prefer internet shopping - very quick and convenient and you don't have to go anywhere! For the past 2 holiday seasons, I don't think that I stepped into an actual store once, to buy a gift!

Elaine - my cats have gotten their heads stuck in the handles of bags, too! I guess it's the old feline curiosity that gets to them! It's scary when it happens, and they start running around with the bag around their necks, hoping to get it off that way! :(

Wendy - I'm sorry to hear that your kitty is nervous! Maybe she gets sick because it's "furball season", now? Do you notice that she gets sick less in the winter time? I know that there are special foods for cats with sensitive stomachs (one of mine is prone to urinary tract infections) - maybe your vet can recommend something! And I do like the name "Lisa"! I guess it used to bother me when I was younger, since so many people seemed to have the same name, but I really do like the name and would never want to change it! I'm sure that your DD will feel the same way, too!

Shannon - please let me know the next time you are going over to "Millionaire" and maybe we can get a group together to go! I have never actually seen it played at WDW. When we were there 2 months ago, my friend who works on "Fantasmic" was doing a rotation of tech work at "Millionaire". We met him right outside the "Millionaire" soundstage and hung out with him for awhile.....but we never did get on line to actually see the show / play the game! We will have to do that next time! In the mean time, Shannon, let me know if you're planning to go again, and maybe some of our Suite-mates will come and join us!

Anyway, back to work! Can't wait till this day is over, so that we can go to the Poly Luau and see the EWP!

Have a nice rest-of-the-day, Everyone! :)
