EWP from California Grill

We're planning on eating at CA Grill on a night when Wishes is at 10:00 and watching the show from there. The EWP is scheduled for 10:10 but I know they hold off the EWP in front of the Contemporary until the fireworks are over. My questions are 1) how quickly after the fireworks are over does the EWP start? 2) Would we be able to see the EWP from CA Grill? And 3) would the staff let us stand by the windows and watch?

Thanks.

1) That can vary. (Although they usually hold for the MK fireworks, sometimes they may not.)
2) Yes, but...
3) Yes, but...

BUT... From there, you won't be able to HEAR it.

Electrical Water Pageant

The words conjure some phantasmagorical display of
dazzling lightning-like high voltage interplay with glittering aquatic delights, no?

Well...

My favorite saying about these kind of "simple" things comes from Hawkeye Pierce on the old M*A*S*H TV show.

"It's not much, but it's really nothing."

Although I never miss a chance to see it... inappropriate "over-anticipation"
can be built up over the "Electrical Water Pageant".

People seem to be expecting to see "Spectromagic on the water", when it is really closer to oversized "Lite Brite" pegs mounted on some barges,

with a "Casio Keyboard" music track.

Don't get me wrong, I still love it, and it's a piece of WDW History, but first-timers, please don't get your hopes set too HIGH.

1. Not sure, but most likely quite soon after Wishes ends.

2. Yes, but it's kind of far away so the floats look small.

3. Most go outside to one of the viewing decks to see Wishes and EWP. While they pipe in the soundtrack for Wishes, they don't pipe in the music for EWP so you'll be able to see EWP, but won't hear the music. Because of the viewing decks I've never noticed anyone standing by the tables inside CG.

As the PPs said, you can see EWP from CA Grill's observation decks, but it will look somewhat far away. It's cute enough and fun to see, but CA Grill is not an ideal viewing location because of the distance and the lack of sound (you might hear some of it if the wind is blowing the right way).
