Which one do you believe in? If it's Creation, then what version of it and why? If it's Evolution, then why?

I had the most amazing class today where we discussed this, so I'm really in the mood now, lol. My teacher makes everything really interesting and easy to learn.

TALK. (:

I believe in evolution. With carbon dating, and all of the tests out there, it feels more practical to me than what's said in the bible. It provides a sort of proof for me, and that's what I look for.

i believe in creation and evolution both. i know that a lot of people dont see how that could be, but its just how i think. i htink that god put adam on earth and then eve too, but he also put all of the animals here. while adam and eve were in the garden of eden and living there i think that the apes and monkeys and gorillas were evolving. then adam and eve got banned from eden and went out and had many children

Do you believe Adam and Eve's children looked like the humans of today, or did they evolve?

You said the 'apes and monkeys and gorillas' were evolving? You specifically mentioned this, why? Did they evolve into humans too?

Lol, my dad and I have gotten into arguments about this. We believe in different things...but that's ok!

I don't remember the difference between the two 'creation theories' so I couldn't tell you which I believe in, but I find it hard to believe that a monkey one day formed into what we are now. How did all that hair/fur suddenly get shorter/disappear? What caused the 'language' to change from a bunch of grunts to what we speak now? What caused them to stop eating banana's/berries and other various plants to eating both that AND meat? I just....don't understand their reasoning behind that whole thing.

If evolution does truly exist though, I still think that there would have to be something there to cause it happen. I don't think that it would just occur of it's own accord and that's where I believe God/what ever else is out there comes in.

Until someone is able to fully explain what it is that NATURALLY causes a monkey to turn into a human or a chick in an egg to start forming the skin of a lizard (I saw that happen on one of these shows my dad was watching once-he likes to torture everyone with the science channel when he's home for lunch. ), I'm sticking to creation.

1. There are hundreds of thousands of creation theories, not just two.
2. Evolution happens during long long long periods of time, to help that organism survive.
3. Their hair might grow shorter because of a warmer climate, etc.
4. They learned to speak as their brains grew bigger. Ho mo sapiens, I believe (not 100% sure) is when humans started to speak.
5. They started walking upright so they could carry more food at a time.
5. They stopped foraging for food and started growing it over a long period of time. Some groups would like to re-visit the same area year after year so they would plant seeds of the food they preferred, and clear out the plants that they didn't like to make more room.
6. They started eating animals when it got easier to get them (i.e The Stone Age, where weapons matured.)
7. One theory to why they started cooking food is when a forest fire started, and groups still wanted to eat.

The "reasoning behind the whole thing" is survival of the fittest. Animals/plants have to change to survive.

It happens over millions and millions of years. There was not a monkey one day and then a fully matured human being the next. It's a process, humans are always changing.

And as far as the whole explaination of what 'NATURALLY' happened when african apes evolved into humans, try picking up a science book. It's proven fact.

I hate it when people say they don't believe in evolution when they don't really know anything about it.

i believe that god created evolution.

That is all I need. I don't like thinking about all the little nuances of everything.

God created Evolution. Period.

Do you believe in Adam and Eve? Do you believe that God created animals (ex, african southern ape) and THEN they evolved into humans?

Evolution.

Even if I when I was Catholic I believed in evolution.

After seeing the science and the reason, I can believe it. I'm not one to take things on faith. I've had my faith spit back in my face too many times.

I believe that God created humans. I think it was a mixture of evolution and creation. But ultimately God made us as complex as we are.

I completely agree.

I completely agree. To believe something I need some hard fact, some science to the matter.

I think Creation theories (and religion) are completely intriguing and interesting, but to me they're more like stories. Fun to read about, but I don't actually believe they're true.

I've never been one for relying everything on faith.

I am a factual person - I prefer hardcore facts rather than beliefs. Seeing is believing.

That said, I believe in both. I think God was the one who created the Universe, but I believe science took over from there and we evolved.

Evolution, and I heard somewhere that it's still going on right now.
Like, indigenous(sp?) people in New Zealand are starting to get webbed feet from living by the shore and stuff and fishing very often.
I also heard that some babies are starting to not grow the teeth that our ape relatives needed to tear and eat raw meat, which to me, is really awesome.
But at the same time bad too I guess.

Evolution is fact. Evolution is merely stating that things change due to genetic mutation, natural selection, and genetic drift. Obviously that is fact seeing as diseases are created.

I believe that the 7 days in the book of genesis are stretched out to incorporate the evolution of our earth. I do not believe the earth is only 6000 years old. I believe it's 4.6 or whatever billion years old. I do NOT, however, believe that we have evolved from apes. I believe humans were created by God. I also don't believe in the Big Bang Theory. I think the earth was created by God. There is no factual evidence behind the Big Bang Theory (hence it being called a theory).

Just creating conversation here, (:

So if you don't believe we evolved from apes, how do explain the science?

I pretty much agree with everything you said.

You didn't ask me but I will say that science isn't always right. I have faith which convinces me more than science.
