I got my magic bands today!

However, my 5 year old doesn't want the blue one, but wants the green one instead. The green is linked to my husband name. Is there anyway to switch them? I know I could switch the fastpasses by changing the party member but am unsure about the ticket. We have the military tickets, which I have linked to our account but have not activated them yet at the window. We have the green vouchers. Just wondered if there was anyway to do this.

Unused tickets can be reassigned - I'm not aware of military tickets being different in that regard. If the system won't let you assign two tickets to one person, just create a phantom person to temporarily assign one of the tickets to.

Interesting situation. Everything I know says you cannot change the person the band is linked too but you just got the bands and they are unused so maybe disney would in this case if you call them. Thats your only hope to fully change them. I'm not sure I would do the swap in other ways. It would just make me nervous if there was a problem or he decided tomorrow he wants moms other color or he's feeling green the next day. that situation your not going to be able to just use another band that morning because now you have a fingerprint to get into the park.

let us know what you ended up doing. i'm surprised there has never been another post like this before. It can't be that uncommon that a child liked another band better.

A little while back I booked a stay on wdw property and have customized my bands already ( haven't received them yet), but my family just realized we MIGHT have to cancel our stay due to unforeseen circumstances... If we receive the bands and then end up having to cancel what happens to the bands? Will we have to pay for them? Send them back? Or do we just keep them?

If you receive them and have to cancel, they don't charge you, you just keep them.

the only one I have was gifted by disunplugged during their mega meet. I believe they are made by magicyourband as they have others on that site as well. My daughter put it on a band and it's still attached, seems study and decent. I cannot speak for daily all day usage as we didn't try it in that manor but many suggest them so I would give them a shot..

We received our bands and I removed the outer portion to make it kid sized. But it didn't separate cleanly and now the edges aren't smooth and have bits of plastic. Anyone have advice on fixing this?

I've heard of people using Exacto knives to give it better edges

I've heard anything that would help smooth it also. nail files, wood working files (if they had them). sandpaper (again they already had it). basically you just need something to help shave it down to make it smooth.

I just booked a hotel reservation. I have an AP but my sister does not. I purchased a separate park ticket for her. Is there anyway that I can link her park ticket to the magicband that she is getting through the hotel reservation? Thanks in advance!

Sure - just link her ticket to her MDE profile. The magic band is just a means to access what's in her profile.

My question if anyone can answer this is: We are staying offsite for the first part of our trip, so on our first day of parks (10/30)- are the bands already active and functioning? Do we need to do anything prior to entering the park to have the bands work at the first turnstile? I can't really find an answer for this. All of the stuff (7 day park hoppers, MNSSHP, Fast passes) all appear to be linked in my MDE account but I'm not sure if they really are to the bands. Is there a way for me to check?

The bands should be linked to the MDE account as well. Check to make sure everyone's band, tickets, etc... are all showing up in their MDE account. Remember MDE is the "hub" that everything is actually connected to, so tickets are linked to MDE, bands to MDE, etc... not tickets to bands directly.

If the tickets was purchased as part of a package deal for the on property stay later in the week then you need to stop by guest relations to activate the tickets early. The bands are fine but anything purchased on the package will not be active until you check in. If the tickets were purchased separately (not part of a room package) then there is nothing for you to do except show up and enjoy.

There is a guest relation outside of every park entrance (after security check) and in disney springs.
