I would be interested in hearing about experiences using vouchers (Q&C or other) at MGM. I can't decide if I should order any for our day there.

Breakfast vouchers - what are the cost of these thru Hot Wire and are they a savings for a family of 2 adults?

they're $17.50 each and we intend to use them for a character breakfast. it should save us at least ten or fifteen dollars for the four of us who are eating.

Not sure if you'll save money using them elsewhere.

Hotwire charges $18.25 for adult breakfast vouchers and $11.00 for a child's.

The cost of a typical adult meal at a character breakfast is $16.99 for adults and $8.99 for kids before taxes and tip. CRT and the Princess breakfast run $19.99 for adults and $9.99 for children under 10.

In general, they are no bargain for the à la carte breakfasts.

Just was wondering if you can use the Q&C vouchers at Rainforest Cafe. I am confused if it is the Q&C or the VKL. Thanks in advance....

Because it is a sit down restaurant, Rainforest at AK uses the VKL vouchers (the expensive ones) however, you can get things like steak and lobster with them as well as their great desserts.

I just noticed that the VKLs say "single-serving non-alcoholic beverage." Does this mean they don't give you free refills on sodas when you use the voucher even if they normally give free refills?

And with the QCs, do they normally give you a regular or large soda?

Yes, they do give you refills but it's the regular size and they are strict about not "sharing" drinks......thus the term "single serving."

There are some counter services places that don't give refills even if you were paying cash.(Comic Rays comes to mind) Any of the sit down places, usually give free refills.(Beaches & Cream, Peppermarket)

Let's say I am Mara and I want to order fish and chips but I don't want the fries (because my son is getting an order of chicken strips with fries). Can I order the fish alacarte with a side salad? It seems they have a garden salad listed on the menu. Or for that matter, the single serve pizza with a garden salad as the side?

Hotwire doesn't sell dinner vouchers. They sell Q&C, Breakfast Feature and Vacation Kingdom Lunch vouchers. The Vacation Kingdom Dinner Vouchers are an elusive creature. They exist but are not easy to find.

hope this isn't a recent repeat having not read this thread in awhile but

RFC has gigantic portions and a VKL would easily feed least 2 adults there...we got the lobster and split it...it came on a platter similar to what I would serve a roast or something on with a bunch of veggies and rice... as well as the appe. and dessert we were stuffed.

some places let you substitute something , we never had a problem doing it if we asked to, but I think it is up to the choice of the person waiting on you and where you are... I am guessing you mean if you want a side other than what comes with it.. the food court at POp century let us just pick out whatever side we wanted from their list of sides and gave my hubby a side even when his burger came with fries (once he got chili( or soup, forget which ), burger, fries , drink and dessert for one q/c) while others just gave us whatever was on the meal as the side or you could get fruit or carrots instead of fries...( so it really depends on the server or at least it did when we went in Jan.)do not know about Mara specifically.

the bv were the only ones we thought were not worth using as we barely broke even( used them at Boma and were not able to get the press pot with them) but really do not like buffets anyway. using with the character breakfasts would save you a little but we decided next time we wouldn't bother otherwise

we used a vkl at brown derby...loved it ( steak with side of shrimp, cocunut shrimp appe and creme brulee yum yum yum ) we split it and were full but not stuffed( gave us an opportunity to have room for a"treat" later so we were happy)

We used vouchers ar Rosie's last Tuesday.

My son had the chicken fingers, I had a burger and we both had apple pie.

I plan to use the vouchers in the future but I won't order a bunch. They are a good deal, but we wasted SO much food. We were there for 10 days and I don't think we EVER completed a meal.

The times my and I both used vouchers were really a waste. It worked better for us to use one voucher and then order one kids meal.
