Everything We Know About Free Dining 2007

Even with the free dining, it seems like the prices really went up. Last year my wife and I and 3 & 4 yr old stayed at Wilderness Lodge with free dining and park hoppers for 7 days for `$2100. This year I doubt I can even get into a moderate for that. Did Disney raise prices that significantly?

Thanks for all the info! Does anyone know if they blocked out Fort Wilderness in the past years aswell or will this be something new......we were thinking of trying it for the first time with our Pop-up, may be we will just head back to one of the values if it means free dining.

7 Day Park Hopper / 2 Adults 2 children aged 3&4 for 6 nights 7 days in the month of September 2007...

1971$ at Port Orleans or
2444$ at Fort Wilderness Lodge or
2673$ at the Wilderness cabins.

Last year.. were your kids 3 and 4 THEN? or are they 3 and 4 NOW? Cause if they 2 and 3 then.. you wouldn't have paid for a ticket for the 2 year old which would remove 231$ of costs from the prices above.

In the past two years free dining was not available for campers either. You need to pay rack rate for a room in order to qualify.

Soooooo,

We will have a party of 11, and we need 4 rooms-with many of us all coming from different states. Some of us arrive on Sept 21st, an others arrive on Sept 22nd.

Does anyone see any issues that could arrise with this, and how may rooms can I book with my Visa card under the Free DDP?

Thanks and Happy Easter! :thumbsup2

You can call Disney now and ask...;)

Did you call? I hope you are able to book all the rooms you needed.

:thumbsup2

Yes, because the free dining isn't officially announced yet they cannot answer our question (which is how many room can we book under the free dining with our visa card?)

I need 4 rooms for my party of 11.

In 2005, I booked 8 rooms for a Free Dining Grand Gathering of 21 people with my Disney Visa. It was no problem.

Happy Easter to you too!

Question for you please---

We currently have a room only 40% off rate at the COntemporary resort for 4 nights -- during a time that would fall under the Free Dining Plan...
We typically always stay at the POP but my son really wants the Contemporary!

Is it possible to reduce the number of nights from this promotion to 2 nights?

We would like to book the other 2-3 nights at the Pop Century and buy a one day ticket to get the free dining package and then move over to the Contemporary?

ANy help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Do you remember what the E-mail stated? How many nights minimium?

I have the 40% off email and went thru it closely and there is nothing in the text to indicate a minimum number of nights.

The answer to this involves calling CRO and attempting to reduce your niights.. I'm sure they'll inform you if you violate the discount rules.

from the email..

The number of rooms available at this savings is limited. Savings based on non-discounted price for the same room. Additional per-adult charges apply if more than two adults per room. No group rates or other discounts apply. Offer is nontransferable. Advance reservations required.

I have been planning on going 9/22-9/29 anyway, and not changing resorts, so OH HAPPY DAY!!! My kids teachers may not like it, but I am okay with that!

I am right there with ya! My kids are missing school...oh well! disney is way more educational!:rotfl2:

We're considering being there with you both--glad to hear we're not the only ones! Will call first thing in the am (actually, before the first thing, since we're on the West coast), but has anyone heard anything about package maximums? Last year, it was 10 days, I assume because that's what the standard package maximum was, but this year the standard package max is 14 days. If we can get in for 14 days with free dining, we are SO THERE! Of course, we still have to make sure dd won't be expelled for missing too much school. Anyone? Anyone?

Our trip in total can only be 4 nights... If there is no minimum stay on the 40 off rooms, I could reduce it to two nights...

If there is a three day min on free dining, I would have to book the POP for three nights even though I would actually only stay there for two nights...

Is it possible to be booked in both places for the same night???

If it were me, I would punt the 40% off in favor of the POP for the entire trip+ free dining... My son is dying to stay at the Contemporary with the monorail!
Thanks for any advice......

Frankly - I think you're killing yourself trying to keep the 40% off.. I'm not sure that switching resorts on a 4 day trip is worth the trouble.

I'd drop that 40% off reservation and go for free dining at the resort you like and can afford.

Everyone, I would be ready to call in the morning of the 12th. This is the info I was given today:

"Magic Your Way Plus Free Dining" promotion will allow guests who book at least a four night / five day WDW vacation package starting between August 26 and September 22 to have free dining.

The booking window for these WDW dine-for-free vacation packages will be April 12 through June 24th. I was not told that Disney Visa will be allowed to book first.

I guess tomorrow will tell about the Visa offer.

There have been scattered reports but nothing publicly announced.

It would stand to reason that some resorts would have more availability to sell than others.. and the existing bookings for resorts would be taken into account.

Remember this - Walt Disney World controls about 21,000 hotel rooms (never mind the DVC and so forth). That's 21,000 rooms that they have to fill each and every night.

Odds are if you can be flexible with either your dates or your resort choice -- or ideally BOTH... you will be fine.

Knox
Knox,

I'm pretty flexible with both so I feel confident that I won't have any problem booking on Thursday :). Thanks for all the info!!! ;)

You must purchase a package that includes at least a one day base-ticket for each person staying in the room. All persons in the room must purchase the same level of ticket. (These can be upgraded separately after you check in if you wish)

Are we sure this is possible?? I'm thinking of saying that my 2 y/o is 3 so that I can get her on the dining plan. I figure why pay for her meals if I don't have to. Mostly I'll just order milk but some of the fancier resturants I don't think she'll like what we're eating..

I know we'll go back again so I don't mind buying a one day pass and holding onto it for later use.
When we get there I'd like to change my dh and I to a 9 day pass and leave hers at a 1 day.

Do you think there will be any problems with this??
