Everything Park Hopping - Please Read Post 1

Can you tell me the most recent updates for park hopping with an AP?
We know we need park reservations for our first park each day.
We might book LLMP for first park each day.
Can we park hop after 10:00am or is it a later time (2:00pm) for AP?
Anything else we should know or be prepared for?
Thank you

You can park hop as soon as you have tapped into your first park. (Park to park buses start running at 10AM).

Park reservations for AP are not required for any park after 2PM except for MK on Saturday and Sunday.

Can park hop anytime after you scan in to your reserved park … on good to go days you don’t need a reservation

Except . . . now you cannot park hop to MK at all unless you have a park reservation for that day. The reservation doesn't have to be at MK (although it could be) but you cannot just go to MK after 2 pm if you don't have a park reservation for MK or you don't have a park reservation for any park and haven't been to that park first.

These new rules were developed because of the new nighttime parade.

This is not the case until July 20th, more than a month away. Right now, the park hopping rules are the same as they have been since Jan, 2024.

Things change July 20th

Ah! You are correct. I'm too focused on my own upcoming trip!
I will also say the wording is unclear about AP’s hopping to MK July 20th and later. The definition of ‘theme park reservation’ is what we don’t truly know about. Will an AP with a theme park reservation at another park be allowed to hop to the MK? I don’t feel enough details have be released to definitively say one way or the other.

So this new poly starting July 20th is for Annual passholders? We have park hopper tickets in august and plan on going to AK on the first day and going to MK in the afternoon. Is that an issue for us with date based park hopper tickets?

It will not be a problem unless MK reaches capacity and PH is stopped. This rarely happens but a new nighttime parade is anticipated to be a huge draw and MK may reach capacity some days. We truly sing know until:
A) Jul 20th when the parade is introduced
B) Aug 15 when MNSSHP begins so guests have fewer days/week to see the new parade

Only time will tell how the new parade affects MK crowds.

Experienced park goer but not someone who typically hops…Looking ahead to Tuesday of Thanksgiving week… Considering early entry to Hollywood, hoping to Epcot late morning and back to Hollywood for Fantasmic. Should I be concerned about my plans being impacted by capacity issues?

Never say never, but I would expect your plans to be fine. The very few times capacity issues have come up over the years, it's almost always MK.

Somewhat new to park hopping.....do the buses between parks come and go pretty regularly? Looking to hop to Epcot from AK on Monday at about 1:30-2:00 pm.

I apologize, I'm sure this has been covered before but with the changes I'm still confused.
Long story short(er), we're AP holders, will be staying at BC and planning a 5:30pm Kona Cafe dinner on Sunday Dec 7th. We will be making a park reservation for Epcot and spend the morning there, but thought that it might be fun to go to the Magic Kingdom before dinner and stroll around for a while before their big party starts... but still unclear (especially since it's a weekend) if we can hop to Magic Kingdom without a Magic Kingdom park reservation, and if we can does it have to be after 2pm?..or can it be anytime after we check in to our first park reservation?
Thanks a lot! Sure hope my question makes sense, and any thoughts and opinions are truly appreciated! Hope you all are having a magical day! :goodvibes

As I understand it, if you have a park reservation at any park, you can hop to MK, even on Saturdays and Sundays, as long as you have first entered the reserved park.

The Saturday-and-Sunday rule is about having no park reservation in any park, since an AP holder is allowed to go to any park after 2 p.m. without any reservation, except to MK on Saturdays and Sundays.

As an AP, once you have entered the park where you have a park reservation, you can hop to any park at anytime.
