Downtown Romeo is an amzing little area and the schools seem to good but i ahve no idea how far that is from where you are going.
Drove through that stretch yesterday on the way to Cedar Point. Is this the building you are referring to? It is the only one that matched your description, although it is not on the West side, but the East side of the freeway. This is the TWB (Taylor Welded Blanks) facility.

YES that is it! Thanks so much. We used to pass it so often going to my son's football games and it was bugging me
Detroit area. I want to move back to Rochester Hills. But DH's new job is in Ecorse and it might be too far of a drive. We want to rent for a couple years before we buy. So if anyone knows of a great deal on a rental house or a good agent that deals with rentals, let me know.
The Douglas, Saugatuck, Holland Grand Haven towns all have nice downtowns. Holland's is the largest by far, but think Saugatuck has the best one. The beaches are the biggest draws to all the towns unless they have a festival going on then there might be more. They are all wonderful places to relax, enjoy the beaches and walk downtown. although there are not a lot of kid friendly places or entertainment.
Holland has Dutch Village which is overpriced but kid things to do - petting farm, cheese making area, swings. DD worked there for 2 summers. You can also go to Windmill Island and see a real Dutch windmill.
All the towns have great places to eat and lots of bars. Not a ton of franchised places, mostly locally owned.
If you have any specific questions let me know.
We've also been to Tawas (friends with a cottage there), Mackinac Island, a day in Harbor Springs, and planning some skiing at Boyne this winter. Friends and family back East ask if we're ever moving back and we quickly reply "NEVER!"Go Tigers!
I think my DD is most excited that she gets to see a parade if they win!
