I just made some changes in our schedule (we decided to go to MNSSHP so I had to switch our Animal Kingdom day and the early ressie for that day and got our plane tickets so I need an extra day) - everything is full! Tusker House - full, 50's dinner - full, Liberty Tree - full. Anyone else having this same problem? The CM I talked to said to try back at 45 days when people may cancel but that they offen don't cancel their ressies then either. Frustrating!!! Thanks for letting me vent!

Where will you be that night? The places you mentioned are all over the world. I'd try for something convenient to where you're going to be. Usually resort restaurants are easier to book than in park restaurants, with a few exceptions.

If you're going to be at AK you could try Boma, or Yak and Yeti. If you're going to be at MK then have you tried the Plaza, Crystal Palace, or Tony's? You might also consider 'Ohana or Kona at the Poly, just a monorail ride away.

Good luck, I hope you find something. :goodvibes

More opening will open up on the day the MNSSHP tickets go on sale... At least that is how it was last year!!!!
For a meal during the party....
Good luck

Try the Plaza or Grand Floridian Cafe. They don't usually fill up as fast as some of the ones you mentioned.

Sorry - I guess that did sound confusing. It actually made 3 changes to the schedule - the AK day is now the MNSSHP day and we can't get a ressie for dinner, the new AK day I can't get a ressie for breakfast and the extra day I couldn't get a ressie where we wanted. I guess I just wasn't prepared to be told 'no' to all three and didn't have back up plans. I'm sure we can find *something* but it just isn't like my first picks kwim? The resort idea might work for before MNSSHP - I'll look into that before calling back. Not sure what to do about a sit down @ AK - we loved the breakfast last year. The CM told me that even if character meals are cancelled they are being snapped up within minutes! Doesn't give me much hope.

I can't offer any suggestions, but I too am having trouble getting the ADR's I want. DH and I were originally planning to go in December, so I had plenty of time, but then found great airfare for September so we switched to free dining just last week. LeCellier was the only restaurant from last time that I definitely wanted to eat at again, and it's full for the whole week we are there (though I am not suprised). Tonight I tried Coral Reef for two different nights during our trip and it is also booked. I've got all my ADR's made, with second choices, but thought I'd also chime in with you about everything being booked!

Last year I had to call back for a few months to get an ADR for 50s Prime Time when my DD decided that she wanted to eat there. You should book your second choices and just keep calling back to see if they have had some cancellations at your first choice.

I'm sorry you are having problems - we are having problems getting places we wanted too for September :sad1: We just decided to go, so I wasn't able to book at the 180 day mark. We are having to settle for places that we've never tried before and missing out on favorites. Keep calling back - that's what I'm doing.

I know everyone on the DIS plans their meals 180+ days out, so for the more popular restaurants, they are pretty much taken within the 175-180 day mark. But once it gets closer to the vacation date, they start to realize some of their plans don't work, so they start cancelling and moving things around. So don't fret now - I say wait until July/August to start calling again. And then still don't give up. But keep your back up reservations.

Just for an example, on a whim, I just called for reservations for the first week in May for Coral Reef, Brown Derby, and Mama Melrose - which are sometimes difficult to get into. Well, I was able to get reservations at all places at the times that I wanted too. And the DHS day is the weekend of Mother's Day. Go fig.

Good luck.

keep posting and watching dis usually a thread to exchange ADRs.

We just booked for free dining the day it became available. I was able to get all the ADRs we wanted, which surprised me. I even called on Thursday and was able to add HDDR on the night I wanted at the time I wanted--I actually figured it was a lost cause in calling to add HDDR since I waited about two weeks since free dining came out--but my advice, as others have said, is keep calling back, you might just get lucky. I'm sure whoever picked up my LTT dinner that I swapped for Cali Grill is glad they took the time to call in.
