The snow has finally melted enough that you can see people's long buried Christmas decorations. I think we should all turn on our lights in celebration
I had everything taken down in JAn. except a Christmas inflatable which was buried under a mound of snow. The snow melted enough last week to pull it out. My neighbors have all of their decorations out though.

The snow in our front yard was higher then I am tall in January (and Dec and Feb for that matter) It is about knee deep now. I could probably get to the trees to get the lights off but the power cords are still under the snow. I "found" my wreath that disappeared off the house during a storm.
I'm expecting a visit from the police soon, the snow has finally melted down to only a few inches in our backyard and the yard is scattered with bones and hoofs frozen in ice. My silly dog took all her bones outside to chew-she loves to lay in the snow and then would leave them and they would get covered up and she would take another one out. I was out yesterday and it is kinda creepy cause some are embedded in clear ice and you are walking over them.
My lights are still up but hope to get my DD to take them down before she goes back to school on Sunday. ( if she ever gets up today!)

I admire you for being able to laugh about it. For as much as I hate snow and winter I doubt I would be able to. I am so glad I moved to southern IL since if nothing else the winter is much milder. The most we got was about 2 to 3 inches of snow. Not a bad winter at all for a change!
Now I am just waiting to see what summer has to offer. Heard it can be pretty wicked here. Gotta take the good with the bad I guess.
That is the problem with living in the northern midwest tho. It will be sweltering here in the summer to (altho not as long as you you guys) and freezing in the winter. It is a joy to live where it can be minus 26 for days and then come summer be in the high 90's for days! and with no spring or fall in between.
It is 41 today and my DS insisted on wearing his spring jacket.
The melting snow does reveal fun finds tho, do you know what a fall pumpkin you left in your front garden for decoration looks like after being covered with snow for almost 5 months looks like? it isn't pretty.
