Everyone Says to Take an Afternoon Break....

Ps we had one day at MK this fall, we were there a whopping 15 hours, never had a single meltdown! It was an amazing day :) just give lots of down time to run around, play, rest.

I'd do anything to avoid the nap back at the hotel on our next trip, my problem is my DS can be "eyes rolling back in his head" tired and simply does not let sleep overtake him in the stroller. Incredibly frustrating when you know he is at 0% battery life but he refuses to go down. I'm hoping maybe the heat will deliver the final straw that makes him go down

We take breaks because when we go its usually for at least one week. If it was just one day we would not.

We stay on average 6 days when we go. We take afternoon breaks, and have a day off too..... I get as tired as the kids when I can't go back to the resort to relax.

I didn't read any other responses...

We tried to take breaks when DS was 2.5 and DD was 8 months. It was a nightmare. DS got so worked up about leaving that he threw a fit, then when we got back to the hotel (on site) he was amped and refused to sleep. All he wanted to do was get back to the parks. Since then we never take formal breaks. When we had a stroller kids napped in the stroller. Sometimes it would take work, lots of monotonous walking in areas that were not stimulating, but other times they either just fell asleep or skipped it altogether and were fine. If we were only going for a day there is not a chance we would take a break, especially staying off site.
