Everyone else gets to ride the fun rides.. 1st Family Trip May2010(top 5..9/7)

Awesome update. I love the Fantasmic picture -- mine never turn out (we missed it last year and won't see it again this year).

Great photos at TSM too. I love Caitlin's ears.
I was surprised I got the boat picture. None of the others came out very well.

I thought it was very cute when she picked the Pluto ears. You just think 5 year old girl will pick the pretty pink princess hat or the cute girlie minnie ears. Nope not Caitlin. When she was 4 she was obsessed with transformers. Her preschool had a wear your pjs to school day. All the other girls had there Princess/ tink sleepwear. Caitlin walked in with her boys Optimus Prime pjs complete with Bumblebee sleepers. I think it's cute though. It sets her apart and makes her different.

Very fun trip report! Your daughter is adorable! Our DD was 5 when we first vacationed at WDW and it's fun to see your wonderful family's pictures. They remind me of us back then!

Thank you. I kept telling DH we have to go back while she is still young. I know this is when we will look back on. Hopefully he'll surrender soon.

Day 5 May 26 – Magic Kingdom
This was the day I was looking forward to most. Magic Kingdom is my favorite park. I love Main Street and seeing the castle. I love the smells, the sounds, the happy kids. I love everything about Magic Kingdom.

We had an 8:10 ADR for Crystal Palace and I wanted to be out the door by 7. I asked DH what time he needed to be up in order for that to happen. 6:45. Okay, done. I was up before 6. This was the worst day as far as my cold was concerned. When I woke up I really considered just going back to bed and skipping whatever was planned. And then I remember Crystal Palace. I have always wanted to go here and it was finally happening. I dragged myself into the shower and did start to feel a little better.

I woke up DH a few minutes early and he went to take a shower. You wanted to take a shower and you said wake you up 15 minutes before I wanted to leave?

Caitlin woke up pretty easy. I just told her it was time to put her Jasmine outfit on and she was up. DH seemed to take forever to get out the door. I just have to do this, I need to grab that. Ugh!!!

I think we left at 7:15/7:20?. We arrived at the TTC where we had to cash in my volunteer voucher for fast passes. The girl at will call took forever! We needed to get on the monorail and only the resort monorails were running which seemed to take forever. DH just kept checking his watch and smirking at me. “Oh no, we’re going to be a minute late..” I think some steam came out my ears. We finally made it to Magic Kingdom and we stopped for the photopass picture in front of the castle. Isn’t that the whole reason you make an ADR before park opening?

Finally, we made it to Crystal Palace. We were a few minutes late. Ugh. I hate to be late. We were seated quickly and the service was great. Caitlin loved Piglet and was so excited waiting for him to come.

I made DH take a picture to see how awful I looked. See my lovely red nose?

These are the faces I get when I tell them say CHEEEESSSSEEEE!

After breakfast we headed straight to Dumbo. It is just what you do when you take your child to MK for the first time. I have seen touring plans always say hit Dumbo first but I didn’t notice the line being any longer later in the day.

IMG_0634.jpg

We spent a few hours in Fantasyland. We rode Peter Pan, the carousel , saw Philamagic and used a grabbed a regular fast pass for Winnie the Pooh. Caitlin wanted to skip Snow White for some reason and It’s a Small World was closed for some reason.

While in Fantasyland the stepsisters were running around. “MOTHER!!!” I love the stepsisters. We were in line to see Peter Pan so we didn’t get very close to them. We also say Mary Poppins heading toward a spot near the carousel.
IMG_0650.jpg

IMG_0651.jpg

We meet Peter Pan and Wendy. This Peter Pan was a little too chatty. He was trying to be funny, but just wasn’t. I probably wouldn’t have noticed if we hadn’t met the other very nice Peter 2 days before. Although Caitlin wanted to meet all the characters and get signatures she made her daddy go with her.

Alright bedtime. More MK tomorrow

great update!!! I just  ADRs before MK opens for the morning, it is so magical to walk down main street with almost no one around and just the castle ahead of you. Also thats really cool how the stepsisters were just wondering around fantasyland!!!! i never get to catch stuff like that:confused3

There is nothing better than seeing an empty Main Street.

I just love the stepsisters. They are so funny. I think I would have been terrified if I was a kid though.

Magic Kingdom day part 2

We headed over to Tomorrowland and used a fast pass for space mountain. Caitlin loved it. She is too funny. She puts her hands in the air but wanted me to hold on to her from behind so she didn’t fall out.

DH and DD rode the cars. There was only a 20 minute wait which wasn’t too bad. I think I sat down for awhile and blew my nose? Once they got back I decided it was time for a popsicle. Caitlin picked the strawberry bar and I got the big swirly one b/c I knew Caitlin would rather have that one. Sure enough as soon as she tasted mine she traded.

We checked out Stitch’s Escape. I know everyone hates this ride, but Stitch is Caitlin’s favorite character and there was no way of avoiding it. It was pretty bad, but not unbearable. Then again I had no sense of smell that day and couldn’t smell when he burped.
IMG_0673.jpg

We stopped at Mrs. Potts Ice cream place and got….. a water and lemonade. How exciting.
IMG_0660.jpg

Some time this day DH started getting a rash on his ankles so we headed over to first aid. There was a little celebration thing going on so Caitlin and I waited for DH there. He came back and apparently the rash was from the pavement being so hot. I have no idea how this worked but they gave him some goo to put on and he would put cold water on it through the day and it disappeared. Weird.
IMG_0663.jpg

IMG_0665.jpg

IMG_0666.jpg

We headed back to do Winnie the Pooh. I love Winnie the Pooh. Caitlin even enjoyed it and it was a slow ride. She thinks Piglet is so cute.

It was already lunch time so we headed to Cosmic Rays. After lunch I was ready to move on. We had been there for hours and had only been to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. We would never get anything done at this rate. I knew we would be back our last day and I didn’t want to waste our Give a day fast pass. We headed over to do Splash Mountain and Big Thunder .

Along the way we saw the Stepsisters again. Caitlin did not want to meet them, however she wanted them to sign her book. What to do? Send Daddy! (DH was such a good sport about getting characters to sign her book. It made up for the being late in the morning)
Caitlin and I sat in the benches they have in front of the meet and greet area so we could get a picture. Once DH got up there Drizella and Anastasia were vary impressed that they had their own page in Caitlin’s book. (for anyone who didn’t see on my pre-tr I used the creative boards to make Caitlin’s autograph book with a page for each character we meet see. The characters loved it and it gave Caitlin something to talk about) Drizella (who had been acting the meanest) came off the stage and over to Caitlin. She asked why Caitlin didn’t want to be on stage when all the important people were on stage. She convinced Caitlin she had to be important too and she had to go on stage. It was so nice. Drizella was so cool! I never expected the stepsisters to be so sweet! Who knew. Caitlin felt so special.

IMG_0672.jpg

We did the two rides in Frontier land and soon it was time for BBB. When I first booked this trip Caitlin was very into Ariel. I asked if she wanted to BBB and she said yes. Then, she stopped liking the princesses and didn’t want to do it. Then, she saw Samantha Brown do it on the travel channel and wanted to do it. So I booked it. Somewhere in this time she started liking Jasmine, but wasn’t as into princesses as she was awhile back. I figured I would keep the appt. and cancel a few days before if she didn’t want to do it. I didn’t even care if she decided that day she didn’t want to do it. It was her thing and I am not going to push her into it. Finally, 3pm comes around and she doesn’t want to do it. Ugh. We start walking over to cancel since I had read somewhere as long as you saw up and DD changes her mind you don’t have to pay the cancelation fee. Once we got there I told her too bad, you’re doing it. I knew she would love it and once she saw the other little girls doing it she would whine that she didn’t do it.

We checked in and waited a bit. Caitlin picked the bun. I really don’t like the other hairdo’s they have there and wish they would add some others. She wanted to know why she couldn’t just have a ponytail like Jasmine. Why can’t they have a pretty ponytail like Belle or something instead of a hairpiece?

Oh yes. If you notice in the before BBB Caitlin's sleeves are not on right. She refused to let me fix them. As soon as the BBB asked her if she could fix them she said okay.
IMG_0676.jpg

IMG_0677.jpg

IMG_0678.jpg

There are a bunch of BBB pictures on the photopass cd so I'll post those when I get them

She was pretty quiet in her chair. I don’t think she loved getting everything done but she loved the end result.
IMG_0679.jpg

When we washed her hair that night she asked if we could go back to BBB the next day. She looked so beautiful. It is hard to see all the sparkles in the pictures. She is never this girly and pretty much whatever she eats usually ends up in her hair so it was unusual to see her like this. She loved it! Everyone kept telling her how nice she looked. She can be a little shy but she just smiled and said thank you. Too cute.

BBB took all of 20 minutes so we had some time
before dinner. We headed over to whatever land(adventureland?) it is that Jasmine’s carpet is in. DH and DD rode the carpets while I headed to Aloha Isle for a dole whip float. Yum.
IMG_0680.jpg

After the carpets we used a fastpass for the jungle cruise. I think we had the most annoying cpt. ever. The ride wouldn’t be so bad if we just sailed along. She was just awful. Caitlin liked it though b/c she loves animals.
We headed to CRT but it was still too early to check in so we found a spot in the shade and waited. Finally, exactly 15 minutes early we checked in. Caitlin got her pictures with Cinderella.
(I'll post her photo with Cinderall when I get the CD)
IMG_0682.jpg

As we entered CRT my camera started blinking low battery. I was so tired the night before I forgot to charge the battery. We made it through the 1st two princesses but then the camera died. We missed the picture with Snow White and we got the picture of Jasmine on the camcorder. The camera did turn on one more time to get a picture of Jasmine talking to Caitlin.
IMG_0686.jpg

Give me your prettiest princess smile

Caitlin was in heaven at this dinner. Her little face was so excited every time the announcement came on to introduce the next princess. The princesses were very nice and told her Aladdin might confuse her with Jasmine and take her for a ride on the carpet. Finally, Jasmine came over. When Caitlin stood up Jasmine gave her a big hug and then picked her up and spun her around. I don’t care what anyone says about CRT, I loved it. It was one of my favorite things we did. Caitlin was beyond thrilled.
IMG_0689.jpg

IMG_0690.jpg

IMG_0691.jpg

After dinner I was done. I was exhausted so we headed back to POR. I think it was about 7 when I crawled in bed. I have no idea what DH and DD. Swimming maybe? I know that DH gave Caitlin a shower to get all the glitter out of her hair before the pool. (She was torn between swimming and keeping the glitter in her hair. This is when she picked swimming but asked if we could go back to BBB tomorrow) I do remember mumbling something about how she could not swim and her hair would be fine for the next day but apparently DH didn’t like all the attention she was getting.
I was asleep by 7:10. It was a great, great day though.

Just a little update about the new ticker that is in my signature.

When we took this trip I was perfectly content with waiting until 2012 to return for the new Fantasyland. Once we got back I realized I can't wait that long. DH did not want to hear it. Finally today he is starting to break down. I remember he told me once that he thinks when he is older he will look back and this will be the best time of his life with Caitlin. When I brought that up he said I was right and to sign him up. :thumbsup2
Caitlin is 5 and if we take the trip in Oct. 2011 it will will be weekend of her birthday where she will turn 7:sad2:. This trip was magical and I want to experince Disney a few more times while she is young. The month could change but I would love to see the Halloween decorations and since it is Columbus day weekend Caitlin won't miss much school.

DH said not to mention it again until I have some money saved so I better get to it. Along with nagging him about Disney I also have told him I am not getting any younger and now would be a great time to start adding some more kids to the family:rolleyes1
If that were to happen it would change the trip, but whenever that does happen I definitely want to Disney again as a family of 3 one last time.

SHHHHH...... don't mention this to DH. He might change his mind

WOW! You are flying through this TR!

Your family is sooo cute. Your DH and DD have the most amazing eyes!

The pirate cruise sounded fun. I'm glad your DD was feeling better. I laughed at your DH suggesting paper towels. MEN :rotfl2:

I'm glad the stepsisters made her get up :thumbsup2 Have you guys done 1900 PFdinner? The Stepsisters and Lady T are the hilarious!!

So glad that she decided to do BBB. She looked beautiful. I totally agree with you on the hairstyle thing. Luckily the 2 times Aisling has done it, she picked the bun style because I really don't love the other styles.

I know some people like to drag out there trip reports since so they can re-live their trip until the next one. Since I am not going back for awhile there is no way to drag it out that long.
I am starting my new job tomorrow and I talked to my boss the other day, she told me to expect to work full time for the month of June (I was only hired as a casual, fill in position for now). I still have to take my national test to be nationally cerified for radiography at the end of the month so I have to hit the books for just a few more weeks. The rest of the trip will take longer to post. I also think if I am still working on this in three months it will make me sad that I am not going back for so long.

I asked DD if she would do Park Fare and she said no. I would love to try it since I find the stepsisters to be soooo funny. Hopefully, she'll change her mind before next trip. I would love to go.

I was glad she did BBB. I was going to let her make the final choice, but she kept going back and forth. Then, I decided if she comes back when she is 7 or 8 she won't want to do it then.

Caitlin made a beautiful Jasmine. We've never done CRT -- we've read pros and cons. But with two boys, they would not be dead eating in a castle. :confused3

You got a lot accomplished. I'm sorry you weren't feeling well though. I hope as the trip goes on you are feeling better.

And way to get DH to agree to a trip. :thumbsup2

I know some of you read my sister's trip report (Nermel9). She has never been on TSM and on her last trip she passed it with a 20 minute wait. That's right, passed it. As in, didn't go on. 20 minutes. Good luck seeing that again.
Nermel9- you better ride it next time--And if you need help learning how to play it Caitlin will be glad to explain it to you- You just pull the string. And it would help if Brandon would see the movies. I own them if you would like to borrow them

Yeah, I know, I didn't go on, it wasn't my fault, I tried, Brandon just has something against rides that other people really like. He also pretends to not like Soarin very much either. :sad2:

Yeah I would like to borrow the Toy Story movies, maybe next weekend since that's the next time we will be able to watch a movie together.

And I'm pretty sure we are the only people who know who Bean Bunny is...or at least, where he came from! :)

WOW we are flying through here! I have missed two days, and I posted yesterday!!!

Your DHS day looks like fun! SWW surely was packed! We were there before you on the Sunday. So funny that Caitlin was trying to teach you how to play the games. Too cute!!! I'm glad to hear she ended up liking the things you thought she would like.

We were at MK on the same day. I looked for myself and my family members in all of the pictures. Alas, we were in none of them. Caitlin was so adorable as Jasmine.

Wow! There were so many updates, I can't remember all that I wanted to comment on, but I just want you to know that I have really enjoyed reading your TR. You have such a cute family. And your DH reminds me so much of my DH, it isn't even funny.

You've been getting a lot done on this trip and that's really good, considering that you said it was crowded. It looks like Caitlin is really enjoying her first trip. That first one is always the most magical. :goodvibes She looks adorable in her Jasmine outfit and her BBB makeover is just too cute!

Can't wait to hear more about the many adventures you all had. Oh, and good luck getting to go back next year! I hope it works out for you. And good luck with adding more children to the family, as well. :goodvibes

Fun day at DHS---I read on your sister's TR where she passed on TSM with a 20 minute stand-by wait, and I thought...WHAT???

Glad Caitlin went through with her BBB during your MK day. She looks beautiful! :goodvibes I'm glad she enjoyed it. While CRT may not be my favorite resturant, I do agree that it is a must-do at least once, especially if you have little girls! :thumbsup2

Caitlin looks so pretty after BBB i'm glad that you made her do it!:thumbsup2

Me too. I knew she would like it. She drove me crazy by not wanting to do anything her dad didn't want to do, even if I told her she would enjoy it. I can't wait until she moves past her daddy knows everything phase.

I was very surprised I made it through the day. I was just exhausted. I told DH if I didn't get better soon we would have to do a do over trip over the summer, so at least that would have been nice.

CRT was cute for Caitlin, otherwise it wasn't anything special for me. Caitlin wants to see Belle next trip so we'll probably try Akershus.

Yeah, I know, I didn't go on, it wasn't my fault, I tried, Brandon just has something against rides that other people really like. He also pretends to not like Soarin very much either. :sad2:

And I'm pretty sure we are the only people who know who Bean Bunny is...or at least, where he came from! :)

I love Bean. Poor little Bunny. Piggy is so mean to him.
I wish they would put the Tale of the Bunny Picnic on DVD.

SWW was fun. We all watched the movies the week before we left and Caitlin is so into them now. I'm glad we were able to squeeze in some time to see it. It would be much better if it wasn't so busy, but going to SWW on Memorial Day weekend you know that walking in.

We were at MK on the same day. I looked for myself and my family members in all of the pictures. Alas, we were in none of them. Caitlin was so adorable as Jasmine.

That's funny. I made sure not to comment on anyone in any of the pictures I posted. You never know who will see this and be like HEY, that me you were talking about!

I almost forgot!!! Fingers crossed you get to go back next year! YAY!!!!

:yay: I think it will work out hopefully. The only think that may not work is going in Oct. b/c of work but I would love to see the halloween decorations and attend the halloween party so that is my first choice. If not Nov or early Dec. work too. I'll take xmas decorations and xmas parties.

Thank you for reading. Caitlin had a fantastic time. She had some ear issues on the plane on the way down so she told me a few days ago she doesn't want to take a plane again. Hopefully she'll forget about that by the next trip b/c there is no way I am making a 24 hr drive.

Thank you:thumbsup2 I have my fingers crossed.

Yep, only Brandon would walk right on by 20 minute sign.

CRT was cute. It is definitely not on any of my must do list though unless I have a little girl with me. I think by the time we go back Caitlin won't be as excited so it wouldn't be the same. She did say she wants to see Belle so we'll try Akershus next time. I'm going to miss her little excited face though. I doubt she'll be so excited when she is 7.

I was hoping to get in an update tonight but my computer is getting slower and slower as the days go by. DH is going to "fix" tomorrow or Friday, and that of course means it will be out of service for a few days. Hopefully, once he fixs it it will run faster and it will be easier to do an update.

I started working per diem (fill in) on Monday. I will be training all this month. Once July hits I have one 40hr week, two 24 hr weeks, and one 16hr week. For one of the 24hr weeks I have 6 days off and then work Tues, Wed, Thurs, Midnight- Eight. I saw today a tech wants someone to cover her shift Sat. and Sun 4-12. I am so torn. Caitlin is on vaction so she will be at Grandma's tues-thurs. while DH is at work and I sleep. DH will be home on the weekends so that's not an issue. Should I take the hours since that will be a nice chunk of cash to put towards the trip or just stay home with the family. Right now I have only 1 weekend in July to work, so if I take the hours I will have 2 weekends to work and 3 off. What would you do?

Thursday May 27
Animal Kingdom Day
We were up early again for our 8:05 ADR at
IMG_0708.jpg

We were actually a few minutes early and could take our time to walk over and take pictures by the tree:scared1::scared1: Can you believe we made it on time?

IMG_0699.jpg

Tuskerhouse was tons of fun. The characters came by really quick and we were done by 8:40. They did the little dance around the room and that was very funny. Goofy was a great dancer.
IMG_0718.jpg

IMG_0719.jpg

IMG_0722.jpg

We left at 8:40 and sat at bench type thing outside of Safari entrance. We put on our sunscreen. At 8:50 I ran in the bathroom that was there to check my sunscreen and when I came back out there was a huge crowd that had been let in and they were already going in Safari. Darn!

We only waited a couple minutes though. This was the first time we have ever done the safari first thing in the morning and it was great. We saw tons of animals and there was a giraffe and a few other animals right next to us. DD is obsessed with animals and loved every second of it.

Once we got off we say the baby gorilla
IMG_0769.jpg

Next, we went to check out the tigers
They were hard to see since they were laying against the wall

IMG_0788.jpg

IMG_0791.jpg

We picked up a fastpass for EE

IMG_0799.jpg

Here is DD with the leopard she had to buy when we got off the safari

We walked through the Chester and Hester area and of course Caitlin had to see that see was too short for Primeval Whirl. She was pretty mad of course so we moved on pretty quickly.

We headed back to ride EE. Caitlin loved it. It was the first time we have been to AK with EE. What a great addition. We skipped the rapids since the line was too long so we headed to Camp Minnie Mickey.
We waited to see Chip and Dale
IMG_0817.jpg

We saw Miss Bunny so we headed over there
IMG_0811.jpg

We asked how long it would be for Thumper to come out and they said about 20 minutes. I insisted we wait b/c Thumper is just so cute. He ended up coming out after only a few minutes
IMG_0820.jpg

We walked be the area where they have Brer Fox and Bear but it was closed for 10 minutes. We decided we were ready to leave so we skipped it.

We noticed Pocahantas standing all by herself right outside the entrance
of the character area
IMG_0821.jpg

We left around 2 to head to POR for some swimming.

As you can see we missed a lot. DH didn't want to see the Lion King :confused3

We all loved Animal Kingdom. The details are awesome and the scenery is so pretty
It was one of our favorite days. If it wasn't so hot we would have stayed all day.

IMG_0822.jpg

Here is DD in the car with her misting fan. At one point she was laying across the sit with her fan spraying her face.
DD is normally a talker. She never, ever stops talking. Whenever we go somewhere in the car she talks the entire time. When I put her to bed and lay with her for a minute she asks me what I want to talk about. For some reason whenever we were in the car at Disney she was completely silent. I had to keep checking to see if she was even awake.

Once we got back to POR DH and DD headed to the quiet pool. I stayed behind to pack since we were moving offsite the next day.

I also headed to the food court to have some lunch since I threw out the pizza we had at Pizzafari.

I took a few pictures on the way.

After finishing the packing I headed over to the quiet pool to see how it was going

IMG_0844.jpg

DH and DD were having tons of fun I told DH I was going to head over to DTD on the boat and we would meet around 6:30 to eat dinner and take the boat back at night

I headed to DTD and once again it was packed. I stopped at WOD and Basin. Finally around 7 DH called and said he would just drive over to DTD since he didn't want to worry about the long line to take the boat back. Okay.

He calls when he gets to the parking lot. I told him to park at the Marketplace side. I said I am standing in front of WPE. Meet me there. It is right next to Once Upon a Toy. We get off the phone. 2 secs later I call him back to make sure he knows where he is going. Doesn't answer. I get a hold of him 20 minutes later and he is at the wrong one. We meet halfway and walk back over. The line is so long and not moving so we head to EOS. The line is very long. We are both in very bad moods and it is hot and there are way too many people so we ended up leaving and eating at POR.

I was so annoyed he didn't answer his phone and he was annoyed that he didn't know that there were 2. So I never got to try EOS or WPE. :sad1:

Oh well. Next time. I am never going back to DTD at night at a busy time. You can barely move.
