Just wanted to see if I got everyone on the DISboards to face the Gulf of Mexico and blow south if we could keep Ernesto away from the US. I don't have any travel plans that would be disrupted if he decides to make landfall here, but many lives sure would be! Thanks!

I agree. I don't have any vacation plans right now either, but last year's season was bad enough for the next few years. I'll start...

We're flying into MCO thursday morning. :rolleyes1 <--- Does this work for blowing?

Ok..I am turning my hairdryer south..maybe that hot air will blow it away. Everyone keep blowing and lets get rid of it for the sake of the all the people who live near the Gulf..... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Maybe a leaf blower will work. We need rain so badly where I am at, but not this way. Vital, I see you are from Mississippi, which it looks to be heading your way. God bless you and everyone else along the coast.

Living in Houston, extremely close to the Gulf...we are praying that stays away from us. I really pray that it doesn't hit anyone on the Gulf Coast with everything that happened last year.

Let's hope he downgrades before he comes inland......not likely with the warm Gulf water but hey..prayer is powerful!!

I'm tuning up the generator and the leaf blower and pointing them south. A few days ago the weatherman said it was a "nonevent". It would be breaking up, losing strength and going away. HA!!! Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, Katrina. I began panic mode the second they said not to.

I am with you on this one. We need everyone to blow, push, fan, wave and move that nasty thing on outta here. We can't handle another one. Be safe!!! :grouphug:

Thanks for all your help! Now, maybe we should get the folks in western Florida and the panhandle to blow also. It may be turning your way. Maybe if we all blow together we could blow it apart! LOL! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I just wish it made a sharp right turn and avoided making any landfall other than whatever it's crossed already :confused3 and tracked it's way straight up to the big ole Atlantic. To get swallowed up by infinity...... :cloud9:

This is too funny - last night when it looked as though Ernesto was headed for New Orleans/Gulf Coast I prayed to my Dad up above to blow it away, as my Mom was just released from the hospital and would probably not make it thru an evacuation. I guess he blew, but not hard enough. I'll ask him to blow again today!!

Blowing hard!!!!!!!!! Maybe it will blow south of Florida and move out into the Atlantic and miss it all together.

Arriving next Saturday (9/2), so it should be out of there by then, but...for all those who live in that area, I'm asking DH and both DS's to turn their backsides toward the South and...well, blow, if you know what I mean! :dance3:

Sorry, I just couldn't resist!

Sometimes I crack myself up! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :rotfl2:

Not blowing hard enough people. New track put us right in it's path. BLOW HARDER!!!!!!!!!!..... I'll help supply some tools. Just keep blowing. Hey that means you. Do your part!!!!!! :teeth:

argh! Now the projection is right through FL? Ewh, that sucks. How strong is it suppose to be when it touches down on the keys.... Orlando?

they're saying cat 1 for the keys and prolly mid to strong TS for orlando area. BUT...this thing is still way out there. this time yesterday they had the LA/TX border in the middle of the cone. and at 3 am today; i(pensacola) were in it's sights. and now tampa/orlando are in the center of the cone(personally i think that's wat too drastic of a shift) nobody from texas to the fl keys are out of the woods yet as these models are sure to change numerous more times before he landfalls.

my (very early)prediction is panama city to the big bend late thursday/early friday as a strong 1 or weak 2....my prediction is likely to change though

ACK! I didn't want it blown into Florida! I was thinking it'd continue due west keeping it south of the US! I'm with the others here, it's a drastic change in the forecast so I'm still not turning off the weather channel!
