We we're at Hilton Head between 10/3 and 10/10. We really enjoyed it there even with me being sick. Which meant that I didn't do a whole lot, but it was suppose to be a quiet relaxing vacation. Well my husband found a t-shirt that he really liked at the store but they did not have his size, they we're waiting for it to come in. So the Friday before we left we went and checked one more time to see if it was in.. it wasn't. So he left his name address and phone number so that they could get in touch with my husband when it came in.. Well today we get a package from the Hilton Head resort and my husband said they never called him to get info for credit card .. Well the package had the t-shirt in it and a note from Gordon the clerk at the store sending the shirt free of charge, so there still is some magic left in Disney. And Gordon if you read these forum Thank You Very Much for the Magic.pixiedust:

I know it came from a cast member, but it went thru the resort to get process and sent.. I believe that most of the magic people get from Disney is thru cast members, I'm sure they must go thru management to get approval for it!!!!

Very nice! Thanks for sharing. I love hearing about those magical Disney moments.

WOW that is awesome!!!!! Once when we were staying at CS resort many years ago...my daughter lost her embroidered dance company jacket. We looked everywhere, talked to mousekeeping, got in touch with lost and found and nothing. They took our name down and said they would be in touch if it was found. Well, weeks went by and then one day we got a box in the mail. The jacket was in there with a note. They said another guest had lost a black jacket and that my daughter's had accidently been sent to them in another state. That person called and mailed it back and then Disney mailed it to us. We could not believe that the other guest took the time to even mail it back to Disney let alone that it would eventually make it's way back to us here in MD.

The CMs at AKV Kidani went above and beyond to find our younger grand daughter's blanket". It was something only a child would love, but they found it and we all were so grateful!

I have been on a few Member Cruises and without any exception, everyone who gives a presentation has been generous answering questions, taking the time to help clear up a fine point, and in my opinion are exceptional people. I am very happy with Disney's product.

Gordon is a special part of Hilton Head. I'm glad you got the opportunity to meet him! He's worn more than one hat over his many years at Hilton Head.

Sorry you were sick. I was feeling a little under the weather there on one visit and casually mentioned to a CM that I was going to my room to rest. I got a balloon and a card from Shadow telling me sorry you are not feeling well. So nice and thoughtful!

We had magic in the form of gift bags in August - prompted us to book another trip this December

I have not had the pleasure of meeting Gord but have heard great things. Some day. Thank you for sharing this great story.

"I didn't do a whole lot"-my favorite thing to do at HHI. The CMs at HHI are awesome, and we've known Gordon for years. He's a great resource for anything restaurant/food related. I'll tell him "Thanks" for you when I see him next month.
Anyone else remember some guy named "CHEF Gordon"?:D

This kind of stuff is why I love Disney so much. The CMs are seriously some of the best customer service people I've ever encountered and they always leave a smile on my face.

The magic is not gone for us. We just returned from a trip with 5 friends and had a wonderful time. We do not expect perks and go to enjoy what we love, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. We bought accommodations and believe anything else we get is a plus.

I personally have not experienced that many take 5 and magical moments from CM's in the last handful of years that I have visited. It is just missing something that used to have such a special unique experience for most guests. Hmmm

Thats is what makes Disney above and beyond other places. And why the mouse will still get our money, we still visit other countries but always come back to the world.
I was told by my parents and have now told my children. Visit your whole country first ( ours is Canada ) then when you go to visit others you can come back and appreciate what we have, or make it better. This is something that keeps us traveling the real world and why we keep coming back to the Mouses World..

Thank you for your Magic Moment details, they are special since not everyone gets them, but we can all share them.

IMO the magic is coming from the CM's, not from the Disney executives who seem to only care about packing in more guests, charging more money and making more profit.

Things like this just inflame me. Where do you think the philosophy comes from, Top down. Yes they have to keep an eye on the pocket book, but they tell the CM to look out for things that they can do to make things special. It is all built in the budget, but some companies that is the first thing to go in a budget. Disney knows that this is a core value. I believe its a value they wont get rid of, no matter what the negative views of some think.

According to the CM's that we know Disney has removed much of their ability to make magic, lowered their limit on what they can do and requires management approval more than in the past. Problem is management isn't always available.

IMO, the CMs are part of a culture to go above and beyond to take care of customers, and it is driven by the executives. It comes directly from Walt. He believed he would make money if he treated people well and gave them value for their dollar. Making money is a cornerstone of any business (and I don't hold it against any business), but I think there is a Disney difference, and we call it "magic." The executives are very well aware that they have to deliver the "magic," along with many other things in their complicated business. So I agree with the pp that some supervisor or manager approved mailing that package.

Stories like the one the pp wrote make me smile, and the CMs are the heroes in delivering the "magic."

Here at WDW and feeling the magic!! In my fourth resort and have had zero problems. Cast members from security guards to the guy sweeping up after the Frozen sing along have been wonderful. Weather great. Watching Hallowishes from 3rd floor Moorea Lakeview truly spectacular. Baby zebra at AKV so cute. Even saw a pair of bald eagles atop the Swan. Can't wait to return in December.
