Our middle school kids were returning home from a music competation. Two charter buses carried all the kids. Less than 2 miles from home, a drunk driver came out of no where a hits the 2nd bus. Thank God, no one on the bus was hurt. The teacher was standing toward the front of the bus giving directions to the kids. He was able to grab something. He was so lucky not to have flown down into the windshield. The bus driver was OK, too. Some of the kids near the front saw the whole thing. They were all pretty shook up, but otherwise ok.

(Both groups were rated Superior (highest rating) and took home 1st place in their divisions.)

I'm not sure if I would say the drunk was OK - after the cops take him in - if he doesn't get jail time I'll be surprise

congrats to the kids on winning

I am glad to hear that everyone, including the standing teacher, was okay.

I don't know how the drunk is. He got out of his car & was walking around after.

And, thanks. The kids were so excited for their wins.

I *think* reddy thought the reference to the driver being ok in the first post was about the drunk driver, but you meant the bus driver. :confused3

"Your child was involved in car accident, but is fine," doesn't rank way up there on my Worst Nightmare list.

I can think of worse things.

I think the OP was referring to the entire situation of sending your child out on a trip like this, and having them involved in an accident (especially with a drunk driver). Obviously the fact that everyone was alright made it much less of a nightmare than it could have been. But I totally get the reference.

Sayhello

I know that they all must be breathing a sigh of relief. Thank God no one was injured (physically):goodvibes
