Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all have an incredible day. There is so much to be thankful for!
Grumpy and Grandpa are fishing. They fished all day yesterday too. I'm surprised they caught anything because it was cool outside. The fish and game warden was out and about yesterday. He stopped by them and talked. Grumpy was surprised he didn't look at their catch, because usually they'll check it out to make sure they meet regulation.
JJ had OT yesterday and we've been hanging out with Grandma. This morning he woke up and planted himself in front of the Macy's Parade. He's parked until he seen the Despicable Me2 float. He can't wait to see Gru, the minions, and the new character. He's so excited!!
We are eating our meal around 4. DH is working. Once he gets home and the guys get back from fishing, we'll sit down together for our meal. I'm putting the turkey in around 11. Working on the stuffing now. The house smells so yummy!
It sure sounds like it!! We've only done the Halloween party at DL once and it ended up being a super crowded night and my DH didn't want to listen to me about where to stand for fireworks and about the character meets. He said oh we can do the characters later. Well later didn't happen. The lines just got to long. We did see Mickey and Minnie though so I guess I won't complain to much and we were there and the kids loved it regardless. I'm hoping we'll get to do it again in a couple years but this time we'll do it near the beginning of the party dates and not the end. Lesson learned.
Glad you guys had a great day and getting to spend time with Lisa and Meghan. Poor JJ!! Glad he's doing better. Fun that the boys are excited about their grandparent's coming!! We leave tomorrow after my Dr.'s appointment for my parent's and the kids couldn't be more excited!!
The characters are very popular here too. The lines of the more popular ones require getting in line an hour or two early. We did that last year at
MNSSHP, but this year we didn't do that for any of the parties. However, we did see characters! We also didn't line up early for the parades or fireworks. Just played it by ear and things worked out fine! In fact, better than fine. We went to the train station area for the fireworks, most people were at the hub instead.
Thanks, we had a very nice time with Lisa and Megan. The weather was perfect too. We spent 5 hours at the park, something we haven't been able to do in a long time!
Some of his tics he can hide and they are very mild. But these legs ones where he kicks like crazy can't be hidden, he can't walk, loses balance if he's standing and they totally interfere. They are a real pain for him. He says they hurt too. Seems like they are something that are just going to pop up every now and then.
I have a relative who has Tourette's and he had very severe full body tics. He'd spend hours thrashing about on the floor. His mom assured me once he got out of puberty they stopped. He's in college and doing great now.
Enjoy your time with family!
So happy we got to spend the day with you all and that JJ had a great day! Bummer he got tics later on hope he is getting a good nights sleep
Dinner at bog was yummy and had a fun time with my scrapbookin DIS friend at top of the world at bay lake. And seeing wishes from there
Off to DHS today hoping it won't be as crowded watching Fantasmic and hope to see Osborne lights
It was fun! Megan has grown and matured so much in those two years. You've got a fantastic teen on your hands. You can be so proud of her. If she continues with her dream to teach dance, she will be a fantastic teacher. She was wonderful with JJ.
They both were entertaining with the "would you rather" game. Made for an interesting lunch, huh?
I knew you'd like BOG!! Glad the food was yummy. How was the interaction with the beast? Hurray for a fun time with friends at Top of the World. I can't wait to check it out in January!
Sounds like a busy day at MK!! But great you got to see Lisa and Megan! Sorry to hear JJ ended up with tics later in the day - could the headaches have caused them or vice versa? Dance sounds fun. Where's the pics of you doing the rumba??
None of the sites I can find say exactly why the castle has 13 gargoyles. This was one explanation for them being there that I could find???
"Cinderella's Castle features 18 towers and 13 gargoyles. Its design was inspired by various real and fictional castles including Fontainebleau in Versailles and the Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria."
Have you seen the new vera bradley bags "Where's Mickey" at the parks? They were first for sale on the cruise ships. I really like them and might just have to buy for myself but wondered what it looked like in person.
Wishing your parents a safe trip! Lots of rain out there day in our part of the world. Prayers for all those traveling through the ice, snow and rain!
Thanks. We had a very nice day at the MK despite the crowds. I think the stress of trying to learn the steps of the dance caused it. Because the time before then that he ticked so much, was after learning the blocking for the musical. Of course, I could be off base. The headaches do seem related.
ROFL, as if I'd post the pics of me. Goofy took video, but it shows an inch on my screen and I can't enlarge it, but it enlarges on his phone.
That's interesting about the castle.
So glad you are having wonderful Disney days; although I am sorry JJ had tics. I am REALLY sorry your teeth are still hurting, I hope you are able to enjoy the food today and just have a de-stressful day full of family fun.
Thanks, Judy. Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to you as well.
