Everthing you wanted to know about Uber/Lyft at WDW

Just checking tonight ... rooms are available at All-Stars for under $100. Not luxury, but a place to sleep with free transportation to Epcot. Of course, that will vary by time of year.

Rob has said in the past that there are Uber drivers willing to drive to Tampa, but think it might take a few tries to find one. You might also have more success with UberXL, which is a higher fare and more pay for the driver. As I said in the other thread, if the driver's more than 5 minutes away, text or phone the driver when he's on his way and ask him if he's OK with it. You could also try offering a specific substantial cash tip in advance.

yeah, thanks for the tips, but trying not to spend too much on a hotel, when we have a great hotel back in tampa, we were just trying to visit epcot for the day...but again, if we try uber and uberXL, and after 10 tries no luck, should we reserve a car service in orlando to take us back to tampa? even if its a bit over 100, at least we have the comfort it will pick us up, as opposed to "if" the uber drivers feel like taking us to tampa...

Im here!!!

So, Ive had a chance to see what this whole "schedule a ride" button does. For orlando-tampa trips, and other longer distance trips, Uber will actually try to get a driver to commit in advance. A friend of mine drove someone out to Tpa on saturday and arrived there at about noon. Uber called him to book a return with someone at 245. So, it's probably a good idea to book those rides in advance. The smaller rides will probably just go into queue normally but anything out of the ordinary and theyll try to match you up.

Is there a way to tell if I "schedule a ride" that the driver will accept the ride? I'd hate to have a reservation, that's great, and then at the last minute the driver drops out because it's Tampa. Maybe I could book my ride to and from Orlando tonight? Is there a way to confirm it?

By the way, the date of my hopeful trip to Disney, from Tampa and back again is oct 23, Sunday.

And the trip from our hotel to Disney is 78 miles. It's not like it's 300 miles away. :/

Theres not. But honestly, I really dont see you having trouble getting an xl or higher to do that trip. I know Id take it.

Quick question....is Uber still not allowed to pick up at MCO? Other than UberBlack? I have a woman telling me that her dd took Uber both ways..she insists she was able to get picked up at MCO, cheaply.

This past Wednesday they downgraded all the uberblack drivers to Select. So there was an illegal price cut that happened along with that.

So, you can now get picked up but for less than uberblack? If so, what is the cost? I want to have current, correct info before I go spouting off!!! Thanks.

Hi! My question is about using Uber to get to the MK by getting dropped off at CR. I saw the first post, and know that technically this is not allowed, but we have done it in the past and were hoping to do it again for an 8 am ADR at CRT coming from AKL :crazy2:.

What's the latest on this? Should we attempt it or just take the bus?

Thanks!

call it a wild idea, but if we can get an uber from our hotel in tampa to orlando, can we ask the same driver to see if hes available later in the evening for a pickup back to tampa? dont they work for themselves, so maybe the driver would take fares in the orlando area until we are ready for pickup? crazy idea?

Thanks for the thread, I haven't read it all the way through so if my question has been asked feel free to say so!! I live in WI and saw a Groupon for uber, would that be good for a different state, say Orlando, or is it dependent upon State and/or driver. I wasn't sure how to post my question without replying to the previous! Sorry previous poster!! :)

so quick update....we changed our whole itinerary...going from lga to tampa, staying two nights in tampa, then taking an uber to disney pop century resort for the last night...we can spend all day sunday in epcot without being uncertain if we can make it back to tampa...now the question is what to do all day monday, if our flight back to ny is at 1030 at night

CR has gotten a lot more lax since I wrote that first post a year ago. If its not christmas/new years they probably wont even ask if they know its an uber

Hi, we are staying at Saratoga Springs this weekend and would like to uber my 17-year old son and his friend to HHN at Universal on Saturday night. Can anyone tell me what we are looking at cost-wise, and will uber drivers be readily available when the event ends at 2 am? Thank you so much.

My little guy is 4 years old, 40 lbs and uses a booster seat. Am I allowed to ride in an uber xl without the carseat option if I bring his booster seat along with us?

Yes, you are welcome to bring and strap in your own booster or car seat.

If you want an estimate for other stuff Google uber fare estimate.

I'm showing the fare for one way in an uber x being $10 to $13 :)
