Everthing you wanted to know about Uber/Lyft at WDW

Hi all - Firstly, THANK YOU for this wonderful thread. It is full of very useful information. I admit though, I only scanned through much of it quickly looking for a particular bit of info and I didn't see it. Could have missed it being mentioned, but here you go...

For the moment, I linked my Paypal account for payments in the Uber app. In my Paypal account, I have two accounts linked...one checking and one a credit card. When I use Paypal for an eBay auction, I must login and can choose which of those two accounts I want to use to make the actual payment. Does the Uber app allow me to do the same or does it default to one? If the latter, which one because I don't see a mechanism in Paypal to designate one over the other as a default.

Thanks!

It goes to paypal, and if you have nothing there, it uses your primary backup payment method (which you can designate)

Thanks for all your helpful information RideShareRob :). I am looking in to going to Universal Studios (Pat O'Brien's) on St. Patrick's Day. Can you please tell me if the drop off/pick up is relatively close to Citiwalk? Thanks :)

Does anyone know what the best pick up spot seems to be for Disney Springs at this time?

Question -- if we land at MCO and want to take Uber to Swan -- can we just walk over to the Hyatt which is attached to MCO and order from there? I have to believe this will cost less than a town car one way. We are four people with three carryon size bags so a regular Uberx would be fine.

The hyatt is still considered airport property. So the only available types will be black and SUV

Hi

I am Canadian and have never used Uber before. I am considering using in on our WDW trip this April to go to Universal.
I understand that there is a promotion of $15-$20 off your first ride.

I have read, that a fellow Canadian tried using a code but was denied because he had a Canadian account.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks

Updated original post to reflect that uber with car seats is now available.

I personally declined to join that program. I just dont have the room in my enclave for that plus the amount of luggage i usually have to carry

Does Uber have a policy regarding eating & drinking in the vehicle, or is it up to the individual driver?

No specific policy, but you should ask your driver first. If theres going to be crumbs or strong smells, you should avoid it. If you spill and stain a seat, there could be a cleaning fee. And of course, alcohol is never permitted to be consumed or open in a vehicle.

Never used Uber before but thinking about it for our April trip. We're staying at CSR but need to get the the MK before 8:15am for a tour. I was reading that using Uber we'd be dropped at the ttc? Trying to figure out timing. Should I schedule the ride for 7:30am will there be Uber drivers available that early?

Is it possible to be dropped off at the contemporary and we can just walk over to the MK?

I tried to search for an answer to this question, but I didn't find it, so I apologize if this has been asked before. Planning to use Uber a few times on our next trip to get from resort to resort for dining reservations. We've never used it before. I have looked at the ap and done a little research, so I understand how it works, but I'm not sure how to work out the timing. Do I just use the ap when I'm ready for pick up? Or how far in advance of the time we want to be picked up do we need to get on the ap and request it? Or can you do it in advance and set a pick up time for later? Does this question even make sense? Lol. I'm basically wondering if, say, we need to be picked up at 7:00am at Caribbean Beach to make it to a breakfast, what is the correct procedure to ensure I get someone there to pick me up at approximately the time I need?

When you are ready for a pick up you open the app and request a pick up.
You can't really schedule something in advance.
What I do is about 15 min before I know I need to leave I look to see how long it shows before a car can get to me. I use that to guide me to when I need to make my actual pick up
I like to give myself a cushion, in case the first car turns down the fare.

Thanks. That's exactly what I needed to know.

Family and I will be at WDW this Saturday. Plan on using Uber/Lyft most of the trip. I did see in the posts that I should take one of the shuttles off airport property and then request my ride. Question is: What is the quickest shuttle to take? I will be staying off WDW property in a condo in Kissimmee. TIA
