Everest Tip for those going soon

I was thinking of going to AK on the day after the PM EMH. That way everyone who went the night before would not be going. I was thinking most people there at at free dining time would be staying at a resort and taking advantage of EMH. Has anyone used this strategy?

Did you notice any spillover effect onto the Asia Rides or the Dinoland Rides?

A friend of mine did. If so, I think we're going to have to radically alter our family touring plan. Get those in quicker.

We found Dinoland to be very uncrowded for the first hour the park was open.

well, looks like i've talked DM in going on EE, so rushing to the ride at opening sounds like the best plan to me!

I concur with the advice to get there early. We went to AK on March 30 and again on April 1 and by being there first thing, grabbing FPs when available and riding standby right after opening, we were able to ride 6 times. The longest we waited was 20 minutes and 4 times (with FP) we just walked right on - the EE fast pass line seems much more efficient than that at other rides. It's a great ride!

We were able to ride EE with no problems on Wed. of last week. We were at AK about 20 minutes before the park opened. At rope drop, we took the route thru Asia and were on the 2nd EE train. The people who went to EE thru Dinoland got to the ride about 30 seconds after us.

We also got to the park this past Sunday at opening and went through Asia straight to EE, immediately got a FP and also went on the ride as there was no line yet. Within about 15 minutes we had gotten through the line and rode the ride. I also have a 16 month old son so we utilized baby swap as well as FP and wound up riding about 3 times each. It's a great ride definately worth an early morning trip to get a FP.

Sorry you didn't get to ride it! That's just not right!
We got back last week and we got to ride it 2x with a fastpass the first time and then a 20 minute wait the second time. Must have just been a bad day at AK!

I just got back from an 8 day trip yesterday and never did get to ride Everest. First of all the Animal Kingdom is by far the most crowded park right now. The lines for Everest are 90 min. minimum from about 1 hour after opening and the fast passess run out completely by noon. Get there right at opening or earlier and if you can't, just wait in the 90+minute line or you'll never ride it. I refused to wait and was never able to get a fast pass so I'll save it for the next time.

What about single riders line ??? It seems to be so much faster than standby line....

Twice now I have experienced the lines and the facts that there are no FPs. I just get back in line about 30 mins before park close. Though the line says 90 mins, it was 25 mins both times - people hop out as park is about to close

Best bet is to get there at the rope drop and head straight there...I rode it twice in a row on March 9th and it was basically a walk on both times, but later in the day the waits were long. I didn't bother with Fast passes because the wait was only 10 minutes when I got off from the first ride...

Nope, when the attraction is busy like EE is, they enforce the times shown on the fastpass. (If they didn't, the system wouldn't work!)

We were there a couple of weeks before the April 1 opening but it was fully operating all day. Needless to day, it was very busy. We got to EE relatively early in the day and could get a FP for early afternoon but wanted to ride EE before we left late in the afternoon. I specifically asked the CM at the FP entry and she did not hesitate to confirm that they would honor it even if you missed the return window by several hours. When we came back, the CM at the FP entry at that time didn't even flinch when I handed my FP which "closed" three hours earlier. Others may have had different experiences but we didn't have a problem.

That's what I was thinking to do. How long was your initial wait? FP wait?

We rode EE last week, 2 days before grand opening, and though the wait time said 70 minutes, we clocked it at 45 minutes. No fast passes available when we got to the park but because it was 2 PM, we expected that would be the case. Because this was the first time we rode, the time went quickly as there was so many Everest artifacts to look at. We felt like we were in a museum.

There was no way I was going to miss riding EE despite long wait times. My 12 year old balked about standing in line so long but once he rode, he was thankful we insisted

We were in WDW last weekend as well and rode EE 2x on two separate days. Sat am we arrived at park opening and got fastpasses then rode standby, about a 30 minute wait. Returned on Monday and rode standby with only about a 20 minute wait and then later in the day via the singles line.

FWIW the singles line moved fairly quickly and to an above poster you don't need a fast pass for the singles line but you will be ride separate from your party. IMHO it was well worth it!

I also noticed, as a pp mentioned they were enforcing the ride windows on EE, at least on Sat the 8th and Mon the 10th much to the dismay of some. The same was true of Soarin, Sat and Mon evenings. So although most CM's have been allowing late FP return times that wasn't always true for those two rides. Disclaimer - I realy don't care when or how you use your FP, not my busineess. I am mentioning my personal experince in the hopes that someone reading won't be dissapointed if they are counting on using late FP's and can't ride.
