Was anyone stuck on the Everest ride on Saturday? We were next in line when the ride stopped around 5:30 pm. They gave us fastpasses and sent us on our way while people had to climb down the steps from the top of the mountain. I have some pictures if you were on there and are interested.

OK, I know this is old but thought the pics were still worth putting up -

All the people had to get out and climb down the steps.

I just won't mention this to my DD6 who plans on riding Everest for the first time in a few weeks!:rolleyes1

It was down for a couple hours last year when I was there with my DD6, she just assumed the Yeti broke something... :)

I would've been freaking out! Was the steps on the left side then?

Me too! I actually told my son that I would ride it next week but I've changed my mind! They would have to call in a special team to get me off that thing! Where are the steps exactly???

Same here! I have chickened out every single time we've gone and told myself that THIS time I would do it! Forget it now. I am so afraid of heights, there is no way I would get out and walk down some tiny steps :scared1:

My very worst nightmare!! From the first time I rode EE, as the car went across that bridge (the one that gives you the view that is so terrific??) and look at those fold down railings that go with the 'steps' I get sick!! I just can't imagine my getting out of my car and walking down, using those steps...nope, not ever going to happen. They might just as well bring me a blankie for the night...'cause that's where I'm staying until they get that car to move on it's own!!!:scared:
The 'steps', and I use that term very loosely, are on the left side of the cars.

Yea if you look between the cars you can sort of see the stairs and the railings on the left side of the train.

:scared1::scared1::scared1: No way could I walk down those steps!! I just rode it 5 times last week and if it had stopped I would have needed a rescue crew and mega tranquilizers to get me down!!

Holy Cr*p! :scared1:

Okay, I'm glad I didn't see this before DS and I rode this!! I would never have gotten on - not for fear of heights, but for being terrified of my 6 yo going down those stairs!!!

:scared1: That would be the end of me, there is no way I would be able to walk down those stairs:faint: They would have to knock me out and carry me off

Seriously...

How does someone that is disabled get down from there? They have a special "door" on Everest so that someone with a disability can transfer on to the ride easily...and we actually entertained doing it...but how do they get OFF?!?!?!? :faint:
