Everest in NYC...

anyone know the times for this? I got the link from allears and I can't get any times for it, just the preview of the ride. I can't tell if it's my computer or aol, but it's getting on my nerves.
Dh works in the city, thought maybe he could catch if he's in that area. I'll keep checking for the times...

The only climb is going on right now 10AM - 1030... they may have another one tomorrow if weather permits. There are other events as well, but they haven't given out any times yet.

The Tony Danza Show just did a segment on Everest and was live from NYC with the climb. The show airs in NYC from 10-11am.

DH just called me to say he saw some of the climbers and that there are booths set up all over the place- but he had to get to a meeting so he couldn't play. He is going to go back later- if it is anything good I will post again.

I was watching the news this morning when I was getting ready for work and the news reporter was standing by Mickey and Goofy, talking about Everest. It just looked like a giant billboard on the side of a building that looked like Mt. Everest.

I'm in NYC right now and have photos!! In fact, we were walking in Times Square yesterday when I saw cameras pointed upward and I saw the billboard with people climbing on it...but the best was yet to come. Today we were in Times Square when Goofy and Mickey came out and started walking to where they were filming something in the island between 7th and Broadway. I got a photo of them while waiting for the light to change.

They've got Everest "huts" set up in the island and a little "village" setup.

Mickey is also going to be at the World of Disney on 5th Avenue on Friday dressed in his Everest gear. I'm leaving NY on Friday so I won't be able to go. They were giving out little booklets with information on the ride and also a 10% discount at the store on your total purchase.

You can't get close to the huts...it's surrounded by people and police. It looks like they're filming a commercial or maybe a short for a show.

Very cool stuff...wish I could be out there to check it out. Oh well, I got to ride the darn thing 24 times during the AP preview...what am I complaining about. Thanks a ton for the great pics....cool stuff!!

pxlbarrel...thanks so much for the pics!! That looks like so much fun! I guess Dh will miss it, from how I read it, I thought they would do it at different times throughout the day. Oh well Thank you for the info everyone.

Everything's gone now. Sometime during the middle of the night, they took all the little tents away. LOL Stealthy of them. The only thing left is the huge billboard. I wish I was leaving on Saturday...then I could visit Mickey at the store.

Oh well....I think my travelling companion is wondering how I managed to bring Mickey to NYC....I never shut up about WDW and then all of a sudden Mickey was in front of us on the sidewalk.
