We are surprising my DS with a trip to WDW for his 6th birthday in November. He is a Disney "expert", as this will be his 7th trip, and he really wants to go on Everest (he's been watching it go up over the last couple of years, and now it will finally be open).
My question is... is it too scary for young children? My son has been on all the "mountains" in WDW, going on Space Mtn twice on our trip last spring (I don't think it was his favorite... that would be BTMRR). However, he has only been on the Haunted Mansion once in the last 3 visits because he's not a big fan of the things that pop out at you.
So, are the special effects/darkness in the ride too scary?
Thanks!

We did veto Space Mountain since you don't sit next to them for the ride. EE - is a very gentle rollercoaster - but in the dark part of the time and you do go backwards.
- Well at the end of the first ride - we had to remind her to breath - it did scare her. Of course the last ride at WDW was TOT - she wanted to make sure she didn't like it - didn't scare her as much but will try it again next year at DLP
