Ever stay here?

Hello,
Holiday Villas are located in several locations around Disney. They are two and three bedroom basic but nice condos. The master bedroom has a nice walk in shower. There are several developements with the very same units. If you want the closest to Disney and shopping and restaurants insist on Villas at Sommerset (or Somerset) just off 192 on Poinciana. The other developements are farther from Disney and a couple are in a rougher neighborhoods. Insist on TV in the bedrooms, and look for king bedsvs. queen beds...Tell them this is what you want. If they do not work with you search "villas at Sommerset (or Somerset) Orlando" and these same units will pop up from other owners and companies. Both spellings will get you information.
These again are not real fancy units but roomy and comfortable. I would look for a price of 80 to no more than 95 a night for the 2 or 3 bedroom.
Hope this helps...Grandpa Ted

Ted,

Thanks for your informative reply. We booked our stay at Holiday Villas (my husband's boss recommended them.) Can you tell me the differences between the Royal Palm units and Somerset? We put in a request for Royal Palm since it was the most recently renovated. Is Somerset that much closer or nicer?

Hello..I am sure you will be very pleased with Royal Palm Bay. I still get all the condos by this builder confused, except for Villas at Sommerset where we stayed. Sommerset is just off 192 on Poinciana Blvd. According to the map search Royal Palm Bay is just about 2 miles or less south of Somerset villas on Poinciana. They are all identical units, but Sommerset is Brown, The others are Blue, Yellow, Pink and color coded. I think yours are Blue!
Still a very nice location and easy to Disney and lots of restaurants. You will not be within walking distance to any resaurants or stores so be sure you have transportation.
We have been to Disney 30+ times with kids and grandkids and as just the two of us over the last 30 years so if you have any questions let us know. We would love to help, Grandpa Ted

Ted,

Could you tell me the differences between Typhoon Lagoon (and will it be open during mid February) and Blizzard Beach? I wasn't planning on doing a water park but my son's best friend just came back and BB was his favorite park. My son is 8 and likes water slides and I like tube rides and snorkeling. I like slides but not the big fast plunging kind! I didn't think February would be swimming weather.

Also, our first day in the parks will be Monday President's Day. Do you think I should avoid MK on that day? I am leaning towards doing MK as early as possible on Monday and if it gets too congested to leave around noon and do that park another day. I think we will want to spend 2 days in MK anyways.

Thanks!

PC
