Ever Sold & Regretted It?

Nobody said or implied anything was wrong with it. They showed interest in why they felt that way. What's wrong with finding out what someone enjoys or maybe doesn't appreciate.
ok ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Than
We stayed at BCV for the first time. We always stayed at Coronado Springs. I missed the "relaxed" feel of Coronado. Felt like BCV was "busy" every where you went. Loved being able to walk to Epcot however. Hope that helps.
thank you kindly! I appreciate your feedback :)

Sad story...I had to sell 2 contracts when I went through a divorce several years ago. I have since paid slightly discounted rack rates for DVC studios and it has been painful given the cost and the fact that we were used to staying in one bedrooms (renting points is not an option as my circumstances require that the option to potentially cancel last minute is available). I would love to purchase another contract but I don't know if that makes sense financially at this point as my kids are getting older and I'm not sure how often we'll be able to get to Disney but if I still had my previous contracts, I'm sure we would find a way to make it work with banking and renting out points. I miss my DVC :sad1:.
I’m sorry.. :-(

We sold our 110 points at AKV. We paid it off 5 years early. (2015) We sold it for almost as much as we paid initially.

We did not have to sell. It was not a financial burden, no divorce, etc.

No regrets.

We had 3 contracts at SSR for 150, 150, and 120. We bought AKV and BLT presale. We had to sell the 120 SSR to help pay for the others. I wish that financially we could have kept it, but at the time we could not have bought the others without selling one. I love my DVC points but with the price now, I don’t think that we will ever buy more.

I sold an OKW resale contract for about the same price I bought it for. At the time, I didn't want to keep it because it was a different Use Year than my AKV contract. The thought was that I would get another AKV with the same use year... but that didn't happen. Now a few years later, I am now looking to add a new contract (and the Use Year is not that important to me). Looking at the prices now, I wish I would have kept the OKW.

Why did you sell? If you do not mind me asking.

We sold two BCV contracts (220 + 150). Every now and then, I miss the idea of staying at BCV and easily walking in the back of Epcot in the evening. But -- we traded UP to Aulani and in practice.....have not missed Fl over HI, not one bit.

We went to Aulani, and I can see why you love it. It is one of the nicest hotels we ever stayed at! Congrats!

That’s interesting... what kinds of things make you say you’re not BWV and more AKV?

We own at both AKV and BWV. I can relate to liking one over the other but fortunately don’t have to worry about choosing as we love both places just as much for very different reasons.

It’s easier to say what we don’t like about each than it is to list the multitudes of what we love about each.

AKV has no quiet pool and since we have grown children it’s become more noticeable that the pool area isn’t as relaxing as the quiet pool at BWV.

The BWV is a nightmare with a car.

Other than that we love each of our resorts.

Soon, that quiet walk to the back of Epcot will be gone anyway. The walk may be quiet, the but the gate will not!

I'm amazed they're not doing anything to address that. Well, not amazed, but at least a little disappointed. They have to know that there's going to be crowd control issues there once thousands more flood in and out via the gondolas.

I was really kicking myself about that BCV contract but this does assuage my regret. I do think it’s great that Boardwalk will get the traffic it deserves. It’s gonna be hoppin! It will have a great energy but maybe not so great for the Boardwalk View DVCers. That back gate though. France which is already impassable at times will be bottle necked as will Britain. Very good for those businesses also. It will be interesting to see if/when they punch in a new gate? And if so, will that just add traffic or spread it out? The gondolas howeve are coming from the Values and Caribbean and the big Riviera will absoute alter the idyllic jaunt/nearly private entry we have in mind!

and yet to get back on topic- the prices will continue to climb esp at Boardwalk with the new attractions at DS and Epcot.

Is this due to the long walk to the parking lot to get the car?

Yes. The closer lot fills up quickly, and valet has too much space. BWV is also a convention center so that can be a problem for parking. It’s easier to park at SSR, OKW and AKV by a long shot. Those resorts are designed for people with cars. Boardwalk seems to
deter those with cars.

The BWV is a nightmare with a car.

We had to park on the last row near the road. It wasn't that bad of a walk, but I would drop everybody off at the entrance and I made the walk. As much walking as we do at the parks, this was relatively short. However, the long walk down the hallways is a different story :crazy2:
