My son will be doing this in May. Although it says theme park admission is not required, that only applies to the diver.

If family members/friends want to watch the dive, they must have admission to Epcot!!

We had a scare last week about this though. My son lost his wallet including his C Card!!!

Since this is a surprise, I was trying hard to figure out how to tell him he had to hurry to get a new card!!

Fortunately, the wallet showed up a couple of days later with everything intact, except for the cash.

My husband has done this dive twice and really enjoyed it. He does a lot of diving and said that the concentration of fish that you get to see is what makes it a super experience. I don't think waving through the windows at the guests hurts either. :) They video tape your dive and you have the opportunity to purchase it afterward. The T-shirt and certificate are nice. Pretty cool set up!

I did this dive back in 12/99. Had a blast. It was a great experience both fo rme and my family. Tons of different fish including sharks and rays. You also get to interact with the diners in the Coral Reef restaurant.

Is this the same thing as "Epcot Seas Aqua Tour" featured in Disney Magazine-Spring 2004? Sounds like it, but the article (in Q&A form) states you don't have to be a good swimmer, It is a "supplied air snorkel"("with a regulator and compressed air, just like a scuba diver.") Then later on in the article they do refer to it as "Dive Quest". States also,"The two-and-a half-hour Aqua Tour costs $100 and features a backstage tour, equipment instruction, and a 30-minute swim. park admission is not required nor included. Call 407-939-8687. It does not mention anything about having to be certified, in fact it implies that you do not have to be able to swim, as they use flotation vests...?

Lots of conflicting info, but I am glad I read your post. DH was slightly interested, but probably not at $140-and he is not certified at anything-scuba wise. Thanks for the info..

We did Dive Quest in November, and you MUST be a certified diver.

DH did the dive for his fourth time last month. The aqua tour is different, you don't have to be a certified diver to do that (we thought about it for the girls and I, but decided to just wave and video DH. ) Just wish they would change the logo on the tshirt, and certificate, he now has four of the same tshirts!:wave2:

So are we talking about 2 different "tours" here, one that requires certification and costs $140, and another that costs $100 and doesn't require certification???
