Ever run into your neighbors?

My wife sees people she knows everywhere we go, it happened at WDW on our honeymoon, and I think at DL on one of our anniversary trips as well. As for me, I just see people wearing the same hawaiian shirts, once on our honeymoon, I went up and stood next to the guy, then he looked at me and we just laughed and exchanged the 'nice shirt' thing. A couple years later, we were in southern Calif. and just spent a day at Disneyland, while back at the hotel we flipped on the tv and were watching a comedy thing, and one of the comedians was wearing the shirt I had on, well not the same shirt, but one like it ;) My wife had me stand next to the tv and got a picture of it. So she sees people, and I see my style shirts every where.

In February I ran into an old college friend at the, Dumbo ride, who I had not see in over 12 years

Two years ago in line for Festival of the Lion King the CM greeter asked who was from Ohio and we said we were, and he said where and we said Toledo, and he was from Toledo, so we said actually we are from Perrysburg and a couple of women whipped around and started asking where the girls went to school, etc. Turns out they teach at one of the Perrysburg elementary schools, though not ours. It just seemed weird since we are from the same town at the same ride at the same time. That same year DD#2 got picked to help the singers at the American Adventure and said she was from Perrysburg, and after the show a guy DH had done some remodeling work for, who lives 1/2 mile away from us, came up to say hello since he had heard she was from Perrysburg--didn't know that her dad had worked for him! It was a surprise.

My best friend took her family to WDW the same week we were there in 2001. We didn't plan to go the same week and found out that we had both booked the same week after the fact. We decided it would be too hard to try to get together while at WDW. So we figured we probably wouldn't see them. They stayed at the Poly and we stayed at the WL. We ran into them getting on the bus to AKL. At the time WL and Poly shared a bus.
We also ran into them twice at MGM. Once at Pizza Planet and then again a ToT. We can't believe that neither one of us thought about taking a picture.

Non-WDW related, but I also ran into my across the street neighbor at Sea World San Antonio 3 years ago. Then in 1999 when my DH and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary in San Francisco we ran into some neighbors of ours that we knew from when we lived in Richmond, VA. They were walking through Ghiradelli Square the same time we were.

Small World!!!

It IS a small world!

Hi, all,
We were in WDW July 4th - 11th with 0ur "family" of four from Norway. Now, my wife has been teaching in the same town for 35 years, and it is not at all unusual for her to meet someone she knows no matter where we travel to - it has happened twice in Disney on prior trips. But on this trip while waiting for breakfast seating at the Crystal Palace, lo and behold, here come some neighbors of the Norwegians. That, of course, generated quite a conversation. It seems they had won a Coca-Cola contest and were traveling all over. Never did meet anyone we knew. By the way, we had a fabulous trip and will be posting a report soon. Bob.

We have twice run into our next door neighbors. Once on the monorail...they were staying at the CR and were hopping on to go to dinner while we were returning to the Polynesian. Another time we ran into them in the lobby of the GF where we were staying. We had just finished dinner at the Chef's Table at V&A for our anniversary and they had popped into the GF to see what it looked like.

They rarely visit WDW:eek: so it does seem amazing to have run into them both times.

We seem to run into someone we know most Spring break weeks but then about half our town seems to go to WDW for Spring break.:D One year on two different nights my son and husband were sitting in the little lobby of Rapa Nui reading and drawing when teens walked by and greeted our son by name. He can't really talk so don't know who they were but it brightened his night.

We ran into a friend from college while we were waiting in Peter Pan line last Dec. I knew she and her family were going to be there; but she didn't bring her cell phone, I didn't know what hotel they were staying in and I thought it would be impossible to hook up with them! It really is a small world!

Yep - our neighbors down the street are AP holders - and the husband works with my DH (same schedule), so their time off and ours often coincide.

On our first trip - I knew they were in Disney the week before, but didn't realize they hadn't already gone home. Our first night there - we headed to Main St. to see Spectromagic (the only night it was on that week!) We were sitting in the circle in front of the train station, when my daughter says - Hey Mom, look - that lady looks like Mrs. **. Sure enough - DH takes off and comes back with our neighbors!

We went back in Dec - and knew they were there - so we did meet up as we were both at the CR that trip!

They were there again in Feb. & Apr., and Mr. ** had been giving my DH heck about going at the beginning of July - too hot, too crowded. Of course, we didn't have a choice - the main purpose of our trip was to attend a conference for Tech students with our daughters! My middle daughter turned 13 while we were gone - when we took her out to the 50's Prime Time for her dinner - we almost died of shock, when they tapped us on the shoulder!

They had decided to go for a quick trip (Th-Tues) and had just flown in that afternoon! They knew we were taking our DD here for her birthday - and called Disney Dining - who told them when our ressie was!!  Luckily, it was a happy surprise. They were staying at a DD hotel till Sunday, then were moving onto property at AS Music, which was the same day we were checking into AS Music with our school group!

What a small world!

We ran into a teacher friend of mine with her kids on Day 2 of our trip (back in '98) at MGM and then once again at Downtown Disney the last day of our trip. It was during Easter week so I was so surpised to see this family twice!!!:D

I thought we were the only wierd ones. We were walking up main street int he MK and someone was calling our kids names .We turned to look and it was our neighbors , we all thought it was wierd we would be there at the same time. A few months later we went to Cozumel and who should we run in to with their kids ? The same family ! After talking we found out we had the same TA :D

Last Spring Break in March, we ran into a teacher I used to teach with outside of Space Mountain. I had decided not to ride at the last minute...if I had been on the ride, I would have missed them completely! The same trip, we saw a girl who used to be on my dd's gymnastics team, twice at two different parks!! Of course, they thought it was hysterically funny lol!

We ran into the couple who lives across the street from us at Port Orleans..we were all checking in.
It IS a small world! LOL
