...as in get there at rope drop and then leave while the staff is sweeping up behind you?

We did this past July. It was an unbelievable day! We were going to spend a week n St Petersburg on the beach with my in laws so we made a short stop for a couple of days before. We arrived late late late I even for get the day of the week, but we checked into our room at POR at something crazy like1:30 am, got the girls to bed quickly! We were at rope drop at MK bright and early! We stayed until about 1 , getting there early makes such a huge difference, we did most of the rides, and had Lunch by then. So we went back to the room, swam, ate Areo, the food court, and we're back at MK by 6, closed it down with evening EMH at 2am! Whew! We slept a bit the next day and hit EPCOT by 11:30 or so and closed it down too. That pool never felt so good! Our kids had a blast, and it was worth every penny, would do it again in a heartbeat!

We have done this at one point or another, in every park. Sometimes with a mid day break, other times straight through. We've done MK from 9:00 open until the end of emh at 2:00 am. EPCOT we always do from open until close, sometimes on EMH evenings as well. DHS, from opening until the end of the 2nd Fantasmic showing. AK, the hours there aren't that long to begin with, so it isn't hard to do open until close.

:confused3

Isn't that how everybody does it?

Seriously though, that's how DH and I tour every day of our vacation. In at RD and stay till they boot us.

Only once. Normally we go when it's too hot to stay all day. However, when we went on our February trip we went to Epcot on our first day. The weather was perfect and we were having so much fun we just kept going instead of our usual mid-day break. We left after Illuminations. It was the perfect Disney day and one of my fondest trip memories. We made up for it with sore feet and sleeping way later than we meant to the next day:rotfl:

Yep, did it for the first time in December...twice in a row!

Day 1 was MK all day on an EMH night. We did break in the afternoon to shower and dress up for our BOG dinner, but went back and stayed through EMH till 1 am. Day 2 was Epcot for RD, stayed through late afternoon, then DHS for F! and the O lights. We came back for Illuminations afterwards. It was a very long 2 days but totally worth it! :goodvibes

Yes, we did that at Epcot in Nov 2011 when we went for an adults-only getaway. We had a reservation for the 8:30 or 8:45 Segway tour, so we were in the park before rope-drop for that. After we finished the tour, we grabbed FP for Soarin', then dashed over to Le Cellier for our 11:30 lunch. After a nice lunch, we wandered World Showcase until close to time for our FP, spent some down-time in The Land while it rained, did a few other FW attractions, then headed to our Candlelight Processional dinner ADR at Les Chefs. We had dinner, saw the 8:15 CP, then went to our assigned place to watch Illuminations at 9:30. We stopped at MouseGear on our way out to do some souvenir shopping for the kids left behind at home, and finally stumbled out around 11:00 or so.

I was at MK on Friday, 1/18 before rope drop and left after Wishes!!

It was pretty crowded, so it took us awhile to do all of the attractions that we wanted to do and eat twice. I couldn't believe we made it through the whole day as we had traveled the day before and didn't get a lot of sleep. It was a great day though!

I had to laugh b/c we are the same way - even with the kids!! They fall alseep wherever they are and hate to leave the parks early.

Pretty much what we did every day on our trip, aside from the waterpark days where we didn't get to the parks until 9:30 or so :rotfl:

Usually one of our MK days we will open and close.. but we usually go in th office season, so it's usually only 9am-8pm :)

No, but now I want to....

We always go when it's hot, though, and I'm not sure I could handle that heat without a midday break! :(

Maybe we'll try it at Epcot this may. Epcot is our favorite. :):)

Almost always! And we usually will close one park and then hop to the park with evening EMH and close it too! We don't sleep on our Disney trips! We always joke about needing a vacation after our Disney vacation! :)

We do that all the time. Even when our oldest was only 18 months we opened the park and closed the park. The bad thing about that trip was we bought her "minnie ears" right before the fireworks at the end of the night. As we were walking out she fell asleep in her stroller and as her head was tipping off to the side, the ears fell off somewhere in the crowd. We didn't notice they were missing until we were loading her into the car in the parking lot. We did however get her picture in them as she watched the fireworks! That was a short lived souvenier.

We do this but usually take a quick break midday or rarely at dinner time. We usually go to one of the resorts to have lunch or dinner or just get out of the noise for a while. It recharges us.

I wish I could do this! One time I did a three park day HS at 8:00 am, Epcot for lunch, and Magic Kingdom until 2:00 am. Thankfully the next day was just a water park day or it would have ruined the trip. My ankles were swollen the next day and I slept in plus took multiple naps in a lounge chair. We always make rope drop and are at park closing but we park hop and take 3 hour resort breaks. I understand the value in rope drop to park closing but I can't enjoy my trip that way.

We both open and close a park evey day we are there. It is usually the same park. However we do hop form AK at some point to another park that is open later.
